What was wrong with what I wrote? We would have had almost no chance against Florida. Team had a decent chance to beat Wake.

Do you have trouble with reading or something? Maybe lack of blood to the brain?

Aside from the sheer lameness of stating you'd rather play the shitty team...

They'd have been 1-1 had they beat Wichita State. There's no silver lining in losing the first game because you'll get an easier opponent in game 2.

You can't go 0-2 if you win game 1. However, if you LOSE game 1.

There is no silver lining.

It's just the mentality of your statement. We have played a grand total of ONE ranked team OOC in CBJ's era, and that wasn't even scheduled by him. I'd rather get my ass kicked against a top 20 opponent than lose to a team outside the top 100.

I hate to try to read too much into body language but I wonder if he's starting to check out. The team isn't good, the coaches aren't good and they know it.

I simply pointed out that we had a decent shot to beat Wake and had no shot at beating Florida. You guys are directing your frustrations in the wrong direction.

Never said two close losses are better than a win and an asskicking. What I said is that we had a decent shot to win the game today, and we wouldn't have even been competitive against Florida.

To be fair, he's really only overrated by Gopher fans that are clinging to something to be positive about.

Most people know he is what he is. Really talented. A well above average player that doesn't make others around him better and requires the ball. Needs to be a 2nd or preferably 3rd option on a good to great team. If he wanted to be that, he wouldn't be here.

As is, Gophs fans should just ride with what we got because him going off is literally the only chance to steal some wins and have some fun moments

That's really not a silver lining though. The only silver lining is that this weekend gets us all the more closer to a new coach.

A silver lining is a positive aspect or hopeful outcome in a difficult or negative situation.

I in no way said that we were better off losing to Wichita State. My point was that our game today would at least be competitive rather than a blowout. That is the very definition of a silver lining.

I think the point is that going 1-1 in Florida was always a best case scenario. We still had a chance to go 1-1 after yesterday even though we lost.
 

Florida is also a perfect example of why a lot of teams that aren't in the rotation for a big MTE are starting to stay clear from ones like these

This tourney was such a snooze for Florida. Playing a bunch of borderline top 100 teams. Absolutely destroying Wichita will juice their NET metrics at least. But no chance for a quality win and chances for bad losses

Again, it's the mentality. It's only a silver lining if you're afraid of competition or playing the best teams in the country. I mean, we're in year 4 and you're like yeah, well at least we don't have to play a top 20 team now. That's ABSURD thinking.
 

Like to see Ben change the lineup a bit more. When Mitchell is healthy

PG - Asuma
SG - Mike Mitchell
SF- Kadyn Betts
PF - Edmonds
C - Garcia playing more a stretch 5

Betts and Edmonds should give the offense some more juice and speed to help the guards out. At this point developing Asuma and Betts should be a KEY factor I would think as they are Freshman and Redshirt Sophomore.

Don't poo poo the silver linings. Missing the NCAA tournament last year set the stage for our dramatic playoff victory in the first round of the NIT. Haven't been to a game yet this year, maybe I should go when they schedule the banner raising ceremony.
