*** OFFICIAL GOPHERS-WISCONSIN GAME THREAD ***

We are going 8-10 in the big ten. Fire the hell out of tubby.

Another Tubby failure by not calling a timeout to have the shot reviewed?

The crazy thing is, Trev actually hit that shot if they just give their standard no-call. It's like the refs did everything in their power to give Wisc the win.

They really need a lineup shakeup, what was the total point production for Williams, Coleman, and Austin Hollins, 6-8 points. How can you win when the points from three of your starters is 8 points or something.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that Elliason replaces Rodney in the starting lineup for a game or so to light a fire under our milk carton PF.

Did I say something about effort? We need five gophers crashing the boards with reckless abandon there, and we got next to no effort.

Not true - Coleman got inside (using a grab hook) while Eliason appeared to be blocked out. Like usual, Rodney stayed still on a comebacker.

When was the last time you saw the Gophers rebound a comeback free throw? Kudos to Wisconsin for knowing how to rebound the middle of the lane. Rest assured the Gophers would have let the shooter get the board for a possible game-winner.

Apparently they did ask, but the refs told him shot clock violations can't be reviewed. I'm more mad about the no-call on Andre's drive to the basket late when he got hammered by 3 players.

Would rather Ingram started instead of ee but a lot of season left. I'm still thinking they get their act together at the right time

Last game I was just furious that we lost. Today I just have a sinking feeling in my stomach.

It was clearly out of his hand

Don't know what game you were watching but it was a clear shot clock violation. I paused it on my tv and the shot clock is clearly at zero with the ball still on his fingers.

Is there a legitimate reason why this isn't reviewable? I have a hard time believing that it isn't. Isn't it also pretty standard for shot clocks to have the red lights that make it easier to spot violations or am I out of my mind?

We are going to miss the NCAAs. Unbelievable. This team is horse*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#.

Because lots of horse*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# teams make it into the top 10. We lost by a point. They said we had only ever won there once, and the Badgers were favored, it's not like this was some terrible loss. Northwestern was for sure, but I don't think this one is.

Can we also review the missed dunk? I have to believe the ball went through the rim and the refs blew the call, because the only other explanation is that we are so bad we cannot score on a dunk.

A couple weeks ago we were talking about how the future of this program looked so good. No practice facility. Tubby finally getting exposed without an excuse of injuries. This program is in trouble.

Good question. I would think you should e able to review that. But I have no idea.

Gophs did well to compete in this game with so many players playing poorly. But obviously a breakdown in poise and IQ down the stretch. I think it needs to be talked about why so many players go into the tank at this time of year. Their body language is bad, and their confidence seems to be shot. I never thought I'd see that in Austin Hollins.

Meanwhile Bo will finish top 4 in the Big Ten again and we are going to struggle to make the tournament.

Someone took a picture of the ball in his hands and the clock at 0, so yes I am going with that one.

You might wanna try Williams, Austin and Coleman's 2-21 shooting from the field.

Just slowed down that shot. It's so close. I still can't believe the idiot announcers didn't even acknowledge it.

Every replay I saw showed 0 before it was out of his hands. Note that it was zero with 4.1 seconds left, but the ball didn't go through the hoop for at least a second, almost 2. Now perhaps that wasn't the official shot clock? But if it was, just more shenanigans in Wisconsin's favor like the plethora of touch fouls that ensued to open the second half.

Also, you can be sure that had it been a Wisconsin player that got a foul call on them in Trevor's situation, they'd have gotten continuation, which Trevor made.

The Gophers' offensive woes are largely a result of a failure to go hard on cuts, or to set screens with authority. Watch how softly they perform "plays" on the offensive end of the court. This includes the dreaded inbounds passes, in which inevitably at least three or all four of the receivers basically walk on their cuts.

Lastly, if Dre Hollins was the man you wanted shooting with a 43-43 tie game and the ball with less than a minute left, then why weren't more players making an effort to get him open with screens? That was a pathetic offensive set, and ended with Dre going out of control right into 3 UW defenders and picking up a deserved offensive foul.

Really? This is what you're going with?

Could have very easily gone the other way if it was ruled a shotclock violation, I don't see why that is such an irrational thing to say.

That really sums up the problem with Tubby's teams at Minnesota. I don't know if he still brags about how he much more practice time he spends on defense than offense but perhaps he should rethink that stance.

Rodney, Austin and Joe.....combined 2-22.....

that's bad.
