*** OFFICIAL GOPHERS-WISCONSIN GAME THREAD ***

Spot on. We used to give UW fits with Paul Carter/DJ and the full court trap. I would think with guys like Trevor, Rodney and Austin flying around with their length and UW not having their starting PG this year, that it would have caused some havoc today. No idea why we don't throw that at teams a few minutes every half.

Go Gophers!!

I don't get it either. We threw the trap out there and got the steal that led to Austin's missed dunk. To my knowledge we never went back to it. Maybe wise old Coach Smith decided we didn't want any more missed dunks so he abandoned it.

A Wisconsin friend is claiming it's the red light above the rim that matters. Can anyone go back and look to see if it ever came on? I don't remember any red light or horn but I could be wrong.

The red light on the backboard comes on when the game clock hits :00, not the shot clock. You just get the buzzer when the shot clock expires.

Our half-court offense consists of an occasional pick and roll, but mostly one guy trying to dribble and get open on his own.

Yes, the Lawrence Westbrook system. When the Gophers do pass, it's receive a pass, get over the shock, pause, hold the ball, consider whether to shoot or dribble, wait for the defense to get set, panic, scan the floor for a stationary teammate on which to unload the ball, and exhale in relief. Contrast our half-court efforts with teams that score by zip zip zip open shot. Good passing will beat the best defense every time.

We need to keep Big Mo off the court. He is slow, clumsy, and cannot seem to jump. Just way too soft. Like RSIII with a bigger body. Also worse.

Walker and Sampson are absolutely nothing alike, other than that they are tall.
