*** OFFICIAL GOPHERS/LEATHERNECKS IN-GAME THREAD ***

Honestly who's a worse play caller? Limegrover, or Claeys?? Either this complete vanilla offense with ZERO blocking scheme OR this Soft 7-12 deep coverage by our DBs? This is week 3 of this weakness against inferior teams. Start pounding someone!

This. A lot of it has to do with the way the schedule sets up, but yeah, this team has looked fairly pedestrian throughout these preseason games.

right now, we look like one of the worst teams in the big 10. even if we played the weakest teams in the big ten, we would still have trouble winning 2 games.

Kidding aside, this O line really is not good. These first 3 weeks they have not been blocking OSU, these are crappy teams within crappy conferences beating our "deep" Big 10 O line.

this offense is becoming very boring to watch. sad to say. there is no imagination. no misdirection. no screens. no way we pick up causal fans with this offense. the only gopher fans are going to be die hard fans.

Some will say that the offense has looked so bad thus far because the coaches are keeping a cork on the "true" offense and gameplan until the games start to matter. I sure as hell hope that's true, because it's been pathetic to this point.

JFC...our O-line is getting dominated. Pretty tough to be a smashmouth team when you're getting stood up at the LOS every play. The only play we've consistently run well is zone read and that's because you don't even have to block one of the players. Ugh. THis is sad.

Nelson hurt now we'll really forsake the pass.

We can't even blame our QBs, because they haven't even had a chance to throw.

Hayes, Pirsig, and Lauer can't be upperclassmen soon enough... Also, why are we running options with Williams? Cobb seems a little better suites for those plays.

Starters just going through the motions. What a joke so far. Crappy play all around. This should NOT happen.

Of course, we'll have to rely on our defense and special teams again... which means we have to rely on the other team making a mistake.

Again we are playing off their WR's. Our CB's should be good enough to jam them at the line.

There are bigger problems than that, they should be able to get away with being predictable and still be able to pound the ball down the field against Western Illinois.

I agree... I mean UNLV & NMSU are some of the worst teams in FBS & WI is a FCS team that only won 3 games last year & we're struggling like we're playing Wisconsin...

If your QB (Nelson) is your leading rusher, that means you have no running attack. It also usually means you have no passing attack either. Western Illinois receivers look much better than ours right now and our lines are being dominated. UGH!
