***OFFICIAL GOPHERS BUCKEYES IN-GAME THREAD***

Some of you need to realize we're playing the #8 team in the country. I said during the week I didn't think the weather would matter, if the conditions were bad it would affect us too and it certainly looks like the weather has affected Leidner more than Barrett. Big deal, we aren't ready to compete with the best team in the conference, the program is still headed in the right direction.

that's what I don't get? i don't think we've looked terrible considering our weaknesses & OSU's superior talent & HC (supposedly). we're playing Ohio State & have a LOT of good that can be taken from this game & its not over yet. this team is NOT the minnesota teams of old & it's clear as day despite the outcomes of games because some fans can't seem to get that we are a GOOD team WITH NO REAL QB... we're EXTREMELY CLOSE to competing & beating teams like OSU/Michigan/Nebraska year in & out. I like the progress because you can see the overall picture forming but some fans are too short sighted...

The only time we've moved the ball all game is when we just ran the ball. We've had one good pass play. I can't imagine that our success depends on a pass game that can't complete anything.

It's funny, we just run our regular offense and people are mad we are too conservative/predictable. We try and mix it up a little and it's bad play calling as well. The reverse pas was there if Williams doesn't fall down. The out and up was there if Leidner connects with Maye earlier in the game.

I'm way more frustrated with Claeys in this game. We've made very little adjustments and continue to play cover 0 even though it hasn't worked much of the game. That WR screen was a direct result of them knowing exactly what we were going to do.

I knew going into this game it was an uphill battle but Claeys is really not sticking to what works against OSU. This no safety look is absolutely killing us in the spread run game. WE're just not there yet to play with the upper tier, our LB's look slow and have a tough time reacting to the miss direction run game. I do love this OLine in the run game!

Yeah they are rated #8 but we are also rated #25. We should NOT be getting blown out like this in the second half at home!!! Here's hoping they right the ship and finish the game strong!

IMO they're better than #8; probably top-3. That team in Barrett's second game vs. VTech was extremely different than the OSU team 2 1/2 months later, which really is as good as any team in the country. Which is really sad to say, since I hate OSU only slightly less than I hate Wisconsin. If it wasn't Barrett's second game against VTech, they'd have blown them out too and have been undefeated at this point.

Ill afforded mistake are costly today.

Oh well. Gophers will retool

Agreed.

Ohio State trying to keep us in this one and we still aren't getting it done. Let's play to keep this one close fellas.

It was the second game.

Fair enough. I'm personally more frustrated with the offense. Without the two interception by our defense the score would be a lot worse. I'd rather take what the defense is giving us, which in my opinion is running.

I think the glimmer of hope this game is stellar special teams play though.

That's better, Now it's time for the defense to make a big play!!!

Amazing how many mistakes Ohio St made in this game as well. There's still a chance boys. Not sure how, but still a chance.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't been thrilled with the play calling at times, but I'm just glad they are trying to mix it up.

What I was frustrated with was why we didn't have a play ready at the end of the 3rd quarter. There was 20 seconds left and OSU had an injury. Why are we not ready to go so we could get one more play off before the quarter ends? We're down in the game, the clock is our enemy. Seriously, just have a play called and break the huddle when the official starts the clock.

I'm glad the Gophers players and coaches don't give up as easily as the "die hard" fans.

exactly, there was a lot of football left when these fans on the board started their usual mason-esque crying. its funny because they weren't crying last week when we were routing Iowa for the first time in FOREVER but GOD FORBID we lose to a superior team while not giving up down stretch, God please Forbid That... PLEASE...

Say what? A muffed punt in the cold wind is strangely defined by you. Further, why the hell would we "play to keep this one close"?? Go out and try to win or just stay in the dorm and study for midterms.

Where is Donovan Jones? Haven't seen him today. Sorry if already asked and answered

Ugh, forgot about that FG. If that sneaks in it's a one possession game.

If that sneaks in the game would have been tied at that point. Huge momentum shift that the team seemed to reel from.
