***OFFICIAL GOPHERS AT WAKE FOREST IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

What a terrible half of basketball from the Gophers. Twice they had big leads with a chance to put the game away, and twice they let a horrific Wake Forest team back in the game. Last sequence before the half pretty much summed up the Gophers errors tonight: Holding for the last shot, Mathieu goes slightly early, but gets it to King in good position who takes an unnecessary dribble that draws attention to him and he gets tied up. Wake has the ball with 6 seconds left and goes coast to coast with Mo Walker serving as an observer as a guy just put in a layup right around him.

Some very good defensive pressure at times from the Gophers, but it's been negated by extremely sloppy careless play on the offensive end. The Gophers have forced turnovers, but they've also GIVEN the ball away. One concern defensively is that Wake Forest has started to consistently find wide open corner 3's out of our zone. Offensively, the Gophers just have to value the basketball and they will be fine. One of Wake Forest's runs was helped immensely by the Gophers just missing open looks (Nate Mason twice during that run).

Biggest problem is the loose ball handling. 11 turnovers is just ugly. We have had a couple of chances to run away and hide from WF and turned down the opportunity with turnovers and easy missed shots. Mason missed a couple short ones and King missed a wide open 10 footer to put us 12 up. Pretty ugly half.

Wonder if little 'Dre wants Mo and EE in at the same time...

I thought the gophers demonstrated great movement at the beginning. They executed well on the perimeter giving guys wide open shots.

The problems happened when wake forest made an adjustment on their defensive scheme and played the perimeter tighter.

We should have punished them by getting the ball into the paint and scoring, but we haven't been able to...... Frustrating..

Our big men need to have these in hand all day during class. Such weak hands.

Women will win more games than the men. Boys, this is a bad basketball team. We may not make it back to the NIT.

Bobby knight - shut up, this isn't the Bobby k show. He spends half the time talking about himself

By contrast the start of the second half is a thing of beauty. Well done Gophers!

Wake Forest...a team that shoots worse from the free throw line than the Gophers!

IMO - Morris is a major disappointment so far. He makes unforced turnovers, doesn't rebound or play much defense. He really needs to step it up for us to get better.

For crying out loud this team needs to learn to play without fouling for more than 20seconds

These may be the floppiest rims I've ever seen...

We are going to get to see Martin or Konate...Buggs is averaging a foul ever minute

Carlos Morris might be the most clueless defensive player I have ever seen...he is beyond lost

Andre is back! Morris- I like the activity I am seeing- he creates a little presence under the basket on defense..

If Andre can bring even 3/4s as good of a performance as this consistently, we'll be sitting just fine!

What does it tell you when I'm screaming at the TV for our senior guard and captain to give it up to the freshman so he doesn't turn it over. Man, has Dre's handle gotten worse.

Martin got jobbed on that block call.

Not a shot on the court that Morris doesn't like....wish he could make more of them :-(

Morris has been a turnover machine on both sides of the floor; 6 turnovers; 8 steals
