What a terrible half of basketball from the Gophers. Twice they had big leads with a chance to put the game away, and twice they let a horrific Wake Forest team back in the game. Last sequence before the half pretty much summed up the Gophers errors tonight: Holding for the last shot, Mathieu goes slightly early, but gets it to King in good position who takes an unnecessary dribble that draws attention to him and he gets tied up. Wake has the ball with 6 seconds left and goes coast to coast with Mo Walker serving as an observer as a guy just put in a layup right around him.
Some very good defensive pressure at times from the Gophers, but it's been negated by extremely sloppy careless play on the offensive end. The Gophers have forced turnovers, but they've also GIVEN the ball away. One concern defensively is that Wake Forest has started to consistently find wide open corner 3's out of our zone. Offensively, the Gophers just have to value the basketball and they will be fine. One of Wake Forest's runs was helped immensely by the Gophers just missing open looks (Nate Mason twice during that run).
