***OFFICIAL GOPHERS AT WAKE FOREST IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This team is screwed when Hollins finally takes his medical redshirt.

Bobby knight is making me sick to my stomach. I could follow the game better on this thread than listening to his boring ass stories.

Dre is still unstable handling the ball, thought he would really shine in his senior year. I will give him credit thou....nice three balls, those kept the Gophers in the game and hold the lead.

Bobby Knight. You can't say the game is better now that the black kids are allowed to play. I'm sure ESPN will talk to him about that

My God is Josh raw lol. He'll get better though.

Well if you didn't watch that game- it would look pretty impressive. Walking into an ACC arena and winning by 15 is a nice win. If you saw it- well then there were lots of positives and lots to work on.

I didn't see it, but the box score does look pretty. I guess I won't get too excited just yet though.

Really good 2nd half from the Gophers. A few too many fouls, but they were on the wrong end of almost every block/charge call too. Really impressed with Nate Mason tonight. He shot the ball poorly, but didn't let that affect the rest of his game which is really hard to do especially for a freshman. Nate played great defense and made great decisions with the ball on the offensive end. Andre Hollins shot the lights out, but I continue to be concerned about his diminished explosiveness on the offensive end of the floor. Long term, this team is in trouble if Andre can't beat guys off the dribble and create his own shot. Mo Walker had some of his worst defensive moments of the season and also some of his best defensive moments in the same game. I thought Eliason had his best game of the season from an activity standpoint and he also made the easy ones when given the opportunity which he absolutely has to do.

I was going to say I hope we can avoid having Bob Knight call any more of our games, but we're 2-0 with him as the "analyst", so I'll happily suffer through more "shot fakes" and "I mighta complained about that one" if it means a win.

Lot of things to clean up and work on but I liked the way the Gophers came out in the 2nd half and took control of the game right away after letting Wake Forest hang around in the 1st half. Happy to see Andre really shoot the ball well tonight as we will definitely need that during conference play.

Fouling, interior defense and turnovers are going to haunt us all year. Wake Forest is terrible, but at least Hollins had a nice game, and any road win over an ACC team is good. Gophers have a lot to work on this month in preparation for the B1G schedule.

Strong showing. Glad to see us jump out at the start of the second half and never look after after ending the first on a rough run.

8 steals for Morris is great! 12 points off the bench not so great

As far as Morris is concerned , people need to remember it takes time for nearly every JUCO transfer to adjust to the college game. I can't remember any past Gopher JUCO player that has come in and played consistently good from the beginning. If my memory is correct , it even took Bobby Jackson awhile to adjust. Hopefully every game will have a little more of the good things he does.

I think he's actually a bit too unselfish this year. He's trying to rack up the assists and is forcing them at times. Sometimes he should just be trying to score because he is a very efficient scorer.

They didn't lose the lead, which has been a problem. Any win on the road is a good win, especially against the ACC.

Well, it was his best game for sure. He played mostly very well tonight. 8 steals in a game is pretty rare. Only bad thing was that he also had 6 turnovers. He is a fine athlete and is very quick.

Yes to both. You could see that our guys were a bit fatigued at times tonight and only two guys coming off the bench are providing much help. Hopefully, the remaining patsy pre-conference will allow some of the other bench players to develop more.

Agree with all of that. Mo's bad defensive moments were mostly at the beginning of the game before he was taken out. He played a pretty great second half. What I really liked most about our centers tonight was how they kept the ball moving (and prevented turnovers) while finding open men on the offensive end. The team got a lot (on both ends of the court) from the center position tonight.

He didn't exactly say that. He was speaking in the past tense, circa late fifties and early sixties.

Josh Martin suks

Why don't you give him a chance? He's just starting. Question: Do you ever say anything positive? I have yet to read anything positive from you. Truly pathetic.

Rather than watching film and analyzing the game, the team and coaches can just review the ESPN broadcast and takes notes from Coach Knight

It's imperative for Josh Martin and buggs have to become serviceable for 10 to 15 minutes per game during the the rest of the non con. No way we survive that thin in both the front and back court. Buggs needs to give us 10 minutes at the 3 and 5 minutes at the 4 while Martin 10 minutes at the 4.

Ok he is young and raw. He has good size. He just needs some playing time. He will improve, just a freshman.

I'd like to see Pitino draw up a handful of plays designed to specifically get Andre some open looks. He's the closest thing we have to a pure shooter. He'll need to have big games for us all season if we are to have any success.

We have to learn to play quickly, but under control. Looks like this squad is having a hard time with the latter.

This post is spot-on, Winasota.

Bet we'll be spending hours working on shot fakes!

As we lament our weaknesses- Ohio State is getting pounded by Louisville. A lot of teams look flawed at this time of year.
