He was our lowest ranked recruit.
There will be others on the horizon who may even be better replacements.

Who is the guy right next to Deven?Deven Eastern looks almost as big as Mike Morris now.
Interesting offer list for a kid from North Dakota.Of course, Gilliam and Crumpley are bigger stories. However, I was interested to see that the Gophers just offered Leingang, the center from Bismarck. He has some fairly good offers.
Who is the guy right next to Deven?
Jaydon Hood is in the white long sleeve and the red shirt in the middle is Stevens cousin.I’m not sure. I also don’t know who the white guy in the middle is. There are some more shown in other photos on Tammy’s Twitter account. I think a few aren’t there yet.
I'm pretty sure that is Steven's brother

Possible switch from one UofM to another UofM?I figured it out. It’s Jaydon Hood. He’s committed to Michigan
Time for Steven Ortiz to try and flip his buddy Philip Riley
Tamarion Crumpley decommits

You think the Gophers are in it for Hood !Is that a really soft commit or something? I'd have to assume that the Gophers are still in the picture then?

Wyoming and K-State are because both coaches used to coach at NDSU. Guessing CO St because they track their arch-rival Wyoming.
Arizona St is an odd one. Guessing they don't often recruit ND kids. Wonder if he went to their camp uninvited and impressed?
Agree he seems to be an interesting person and a former great player. Again just doesn't seem likely that an Arizona State coach would find his way to Bismarck, ND. I would guess more likely that he saw Leingang at some camp, somewhere, and was impressed. Maybe a lineman camp? I'm just wild guessing.Looks like he's being recruited by Kevin Mawae at ASU. That's pretty cool for the kid even if he doesn't readily know who Kevin Mawae is. A quick google search will teach him. I'm sure he's a great OL coach, I wonder if he can recruit at all

The last OL (that I recall, anyway) that we had from Bismarck, was pretty good.
Kevin Mawae is an NFL Hall of Famer, that has got to impress a high school OL recruit. Leingang looks pretty solid in his film.Looks like he's being recruited by Kevin Mawae at ASU. I like his tape a lot.Kevin Mawae is an NFL Hall of Famer, that has got to impress a high school OL recruit. Leingang looks pretty solid in his film.
I would think power as well. That’s what worked at NDSU. And it is quite a change-up from what the Big XII schools typically run.He might be the first kid in Bismarck history to have 13 D-1 offers...that alone tells you he's something. He's got some good regional options in addition to the ASU scholly offer. He's got a Yale offer as well.
You'd think Minnesota has got a fighting chance unless he wants to play in a Bohl-type Power scheme. I know Wyoming and NDSU run power...I'm not sure what K-State does
How big is Eastern going to get, considering he’s only 16-17 now?
Committed to Arkansas today. The Gophers offered a recent Nebraska decommit.

A coaching staff with previous NFL HC’s in Herm Edwards and Marvin Lewis, as well as solid NFL players in Kevin Mawae and Antonio Pierce would look pretty a appealing to a high school recruit with NFL aspirations. So speaking of ASU recruiting that kid from Bismarck, I finally got around to watching HBO's 24/7 on ASU football. Man...Herm Edwards is cool. I wouldn't blame any kid for wanting to play for him
It's a good watch - I recommend
I heard the school is a bunch of nerds who don't like to party, in the slightest, and they have absolutely no attractive females.A coaching staff with previous NFL HC’s in Herm Edwards and Marvin Lewis, as well as solid NFL players in Kevin Mawae and Antonio Pierce would look pretty a appealing to a high school recruit with NFL aspirations.
Having said that, ASU is a terrible team in a terrible town with a terrible stadium and terrible fans - for any potential gopher recruit that may be reading this.
