No confidence in our current scholarship kicker?
 


I think you can afford to give scholarships to kickers and long snappers every few years if you are good at getting quality PWO’s at other positions. Every year players will leave and free up scholarships.

I assume Fleck has a quota of total specialists on scholarship. Two will be seniors this year.
 










Michael Lantz is the name of the kicker the Gophers offered. A lot of stuff on his twitter feed about him being the #1 kicking recruit, but when I google him I don't really find anything that confirms that. His video is pretty cool. A couple of 50 yarders on there, and plenty of 40+

What I like about him is he kicks the ball to the back of the endzone every kick. No need to worry about 5 star phenoms torching us for a return when he can't catch the ball at all. He made two 48 or 49 yard field goals in his highlight tape so he's good enough to play here. That first FG would have been good from 55! RTB

He'll be a senior next year, and didn't get all that much playing time behind this year's senior QB, but he's a talent I haven't seen in quite a while. Quite the arm, throwing a 65 yard pass for completion (that's 65 yards in the air, not including yards-after-catch). Not sure about his ability to run (he does play guard on the basketball team, so he's got some mobility), guess we'll see more in his senior year.

Goggling the Internet I find a 2019 recruit as being listed from Mnnesota, who I didn't recognize. His name is Bryce Benhart, 6'7 295lb. ÖL. Supposedly offers from Becky, Mich, ND, UCLA, and MINNESOTA. Anyone know anything about him - school, recruiter,?

Anyone know if we have a good shot to land anyone in the upcoming month or so? I know its early yet but just curious if we have any steam with some of these guys.
 

Can we land Benhart or Carroll or both?
 

Fleck signed a long snapper for punts. This is good.

It would be good if he signs a returner for kick offs.

Carroll definitely has a lot of legitimate interest in the U and loves Fleck. We are definitely a contender

No one knows if it is enough interest to put us over the top however.
