Hopefully Fleck will turn some of his misses into hits...guys that ended up at Ill, Ind, Purdue, etc that loved him but wanted a bigger stage...

I welcome de-commits from TC's list. It means PJ can bring in his own guys.

It seems like Ibrahim is a better version of Holmes, so I'm not surprised at all by this.

Clayes remaining out of state recruits:

Brett Kitrell
Joshua Croslen
Bryson Jackson
Claudin Cherelus
Trey Creamer
Raheem Layne

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out. I'd guess that Creamer, Layne and Jackson are the safest but who knows.

Didn't PJ when he first showed up at WMU around this time dump.... everyone?

It will be interesting.

Nevermind, I misread Cherelus as Creamer :)

I hope we can add Croslen to that list too. He is the highest rated of the bunch.

It's like "Abe Simpson & Monty Burns' Fighting Hellfish last man remaining gets the German treasure" with this last 5 remaining....

per Greder:

The Gophers’ 2017 football recruiting class continued to shift Monday morning.

After new coach P.J. Fleck added 10 new players over the weekend — including nine who flipped commitments from Western Michigan to Minnesota — three players previously committed to former head coach Tracy Claeys decided to decommit to the U on Monday, according to their messages on Twitter.

Those players were Claudin Cherelus, outside linebacker/safety from Naples, Fla.; Javan Hawes, wide receiver from Tyrone, Ga., and Jakyle Holmes, a running back/athlete from Ponchatoula, La.

Need help at Safety and most likely corner. I'm hopeful some of our younger DB's like Durr don't transfer who came here because of Sawvell

I've said this before, but I wouldn't be surprised if Durr tore his ACL and is out for the year.

We are going to be flat out desperate at safety and thin at corner...hope Fleck's defensive coach hires bring some guys with them too.

I forgot about that, I remember seeing something on Twitter. Yeah, that could be rough.

Coney Durr was scheduled to have an MRI on Jan 6....
I've seen no follow up news on any result. It may not have been read yet.

We might be a landing spot for a couple of grad transfers. We'll have scholarships available even after signing the max. I know Malik Rucker (Cooper/Iowa/WMU) is likely a graduate.

He was hyping Fleck up to the local media we'll see if that plays a role.

Besides the WMU flips, who has Fleck offered since getting to campus? Those are the players likely to fill out the class. I doubt many of Claeys' offers kids not committed to the Gophers when Fleck was hired still stand either.

I was speaking generally.

Bob was saying a class of 15 better than a class of 21 if the last 6 bring down the average. I disagree.

Unless the additions are horrible or it hampers you from getting different players, I don't mind taking a guy who brings the average down.

I was basically defending the practice of factoring in the number of committed players into a recruiting ranking.

Wow. That is absolutely not what I said.

I was saying that when Claeys class filled out (to 21) the rankings would have went up. It was a critique of team rankings. Are you just pretending to not get it?

Hawkeyes smelling blood in the water. Hope PJ firms up that commit.

Kam White would be a great addition. He's visiting on the 21st.

Kendarian Handy-Holly also has a visit scheduled for the 21st. Would be a fantastic duo to add to the secondary.
