Is someone besides Jackson also in town?

Why are we offering more OL at this point? Are we losing some OL commits?

Speculations:
Are either current RS Juniors Isaac Hayes or Ben Lauer (injury issues, bone on bone?) graduating early?

Nonstarters transferring?

Bush, Campion, Christianson, Bobek, and Bjorklund are Seniors. Medical RS for Bobek (and Christianson?) is not a certainty.

Adding JC players Vincent Calhoun and Garrison Wright (if he decides to commit) will balance out the classes. The offer to Trystan Carillo is to provide added depth at OC with Christianson and Bobek both possibly done with football.

These 2016 OL prospects look fantastic if they all sign (the last two if they commit & sign):
Sean Foster
Sam Schlueter
Connor Olson
Matt Kegel
Vincent Calhoun
(Garrison Wright)
(Trystan Carillo)

Were there any other players that started looking elsewhere from Missouri after the on-campus issues and Pinkel's retirement? Didn't we lose out on a TE that committed there?

I believe that Trystan Castillo is a Missouri commit. He's visiting next weekend

TE Albert Okwuegbunam was a Gopher target but he committed to Missouri in September...

GI has reported that Athlete Andre Polk has switched to Central Florida. Maybe it was a mutual deal. Or maybe he wanted to stay closer to home and the palm trees. Anyway, that opens up another spot.

Polk is listed as a 2* ATH on Rivals; he took an official visit to USF on 11-13, and committed to USF on 11-21. UCF is another story - they just hired a new AD, but still hasn't hired a coach to replace George O'Leary.

South Florida, not Central Florida. Oddly enough, I'm not too broken up about this, he seems to be a player without a position. I wish him well at USF though.

Another spot for a defensive lineman.

He would have been a nice addition to the pass rush. Wouldn't be surprised to see the staff offer another JUCO DE now.

Well, that Webber news puts the cap on a pretty tremendous day...lose to Texas F'ing Tech, lose to Green Bay (again), and lose one of the more important commitments from a 2016 perspective.

Ouch, I think he would have gotten significant playing time next year. Oh well. Next up!

Yeah you nailed it. Today has been a bloody f'in curse in Minnesota sports..

Losing Polk isn't that big of deal since it's relatively easy to find 2-star OLBs, but the loss of Webber is a blow. We need to really pick up the D-line recruiting over the next 2 months. I really hope Colton Beebe gets moved to the D-line, imo he is way more valuable there than at FB.

Agree

We were overdue. It has been at least 3 weeks since we had a day like today. The sports gods didn't want us to get too comfortable.

I was hoping after this weekend, that a new commitment will be announced.

Instead, it is such a Debbie Downer day as we lost two commitments.
