Official 2016 Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Stories, Rumors, etc.

Goblirsch didn't give a name in his post, but yes he said this afternoon. Yeah I think we may have our first out of state commit. Albert O or Bailey Edwards would make sense.

Or Nigel Warrior. :D

I mean why wouldn't a southern guy that has offers from virtually every SEC school commit to Minnesota?

Could be this guy too

Foster would be big. We'd have two of the three guys we're recruiting the hardest at oline then.

6 2016 recruits already and Kill hasnt even hosted the BBQ event yet. Top 10 class after some BBQ ;)

Does anybody know how many O-line prospects they expect to sign this year? I seem to remember them saying 3-4 after the big 2015 class. Time to toss your hat into the ring Mr Kegel.
Foster is an Iowa legacy. That will piss off a few Hawkeyes!

I think I've heard 3-4 as well. My ideal way to finish off the OL class would be Kegel and an impact interior guy, be that a mature HS kid or a JUCO.

Has Iowa even offered yet? This will be enough piss him off as a legacy recruit.

Sat in the vicinity of Billy Glasscock during the Spring Game yesterday.

Couldn't miss that he was all smiles as he left at the end.

A day later the reasons why he was all grin are very clear.

Very impressive.

Great class so far! just wondering if there are any names to follow on the QB front besides the burnsville kid. Besides him I haven't heard about anyone else, and QBs are usually the early ones to commit. Is it possible we take no QB in this class?

I know this is a 2017 recruit, but FWIW, I'm hearing Grant Ryerse is a big time Gophers lean right now

We saw Kill smiling about something at the end of the game as well. He was behind the bench at the end of the game and very visible. I guess commitments from 6' 8" road grading offensive linemen will do that to a guy.........

I'm sure Kill has Foster committed to no more visits, but I'd heard the real threat for Foster wasn't Iowa, rather Notre Dame. As in "Forget Iowa, if ND offers he'll commit on the spot.". Not trying to say the sky is falling, just something to keep an eye on.

#18 class in the country on Scout. I wouldn't expect it to stay their but I would thrilled if it finished in the 25-35 range come signing day.

Looks like this is the brother of current Gopher Berkley Edwards and NFL receiver Braylon.

“@RyanBurnsGI: Michigan WR Bailey Edwards (@BE16__) has ”really high“ interest in #Minnesota following his visit yesterday ($) https://t.co/116GOPATai”

Nice and his 3-star rating will probably keep Michigan from offering!

Not much interest from anyone at this point. He's got offers from us, Western Michigan and Bowling Green as a I recall (not looking it up)? Interested to see what happens next season. Does he blow up and we were in on the ground floor? Does he stay about where he's at? The kid's got speed and we need speed. I'd be more excited if he hadn't stopped at UW on the way to the Spring Game.

He's listed as 6'2" tall. I'd be happy to keep getting Michigan kids to commit to Minnesota. That's a pipeline that can yield results, as is Illinois and Ohio.
