Official 2015 Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Stories, Rumors, etc.

According to Ryan Burns, we have had a commit for almost a week. He's waiting for the go ahead to announce it.

If you're just talking about the tweet about it being a good day to be a Minnesota fan, he never actually said that it was a commitment, Just that there was news that he couldn't report yet and the staff was happy. Many people read into that that we got our first commit but the info has still not been released so we don't really know what it is.

We have our first commit.

Yeah. Its Cornell, he told coach and that he can count on him to commit, but since he is so highly touted, he wants to get his free visits in before he does so. And then talk about how he loves the gophers to a national audience. Boosting the perception of our team to future recruits...

...I dreamed it. So it must be true.

Other than a commitment the only other thing it could be would be practice facility related. One of those two would be my guess.

Is a Schmidt commit asking for too much? He has already visited 5 times most recently at the spring game, has declared us his leader and says he will make a decision before his senior season.

Are you the same guy who said Reid Travis was solid??? Also, I'm guessing you'd say that Phil Nelson did what any of us would do if we were knocked down.

This was my first thought/hope. Hoping it was Kelly or Femi-Cole followed closely behind.

I think you have me mixed up with somebody else. I never said or thought any of those things.

I just posted a wishful thought onto the board. As the prospect of landing highly touted local recruits gets me a little excited.

Maybe I should have made that more clear.

Sorry I got you all riled up, Halsey Hall.

Thanks a million, but Dovich is not who I (or Burns) was talking about. Dovich is a new commit.

It's a commit, and he's not from MN.

If I'm not mistaken, Dovich, Cornell, and Carlberg are the only players from MN with offers at this point. Assuming you are right, and the the secret commit wasn't Dovich (certainly isn't Cornell as well), then isn't it blatantly obvious? The answer would be Carlberg.

There are only 8 words in his post, so how did you miss the last 5?

He's not from MN according to rychart45.

Go Gophers!!

per the Daily:

Jashon Cornell of Cretin-Derham Hall High School also said he was impressed by Hageman’s performance last season. Cornell, a five-star recruit ranked 16th in the class of 2015 by ESPN, called Hageman “an animal.”

“There’s nothing like him. Minnesota turned him into the player that he is,” Cornell said.

The defensive lineman confirmed reports that Michigan State is his favorite school so far, but said Minnesota will probably be one of his three finalists.

Landing Cornell is a long shot for Minnesota, but the Gophers are going all in this summer to attract defensive recruits to take over when the current upperclassmen are gone.

“We recruit length and speed. We’re not going to get all the five-star people,” Kill said to a crowd in Willmar, Minn. at the Gophers’ annual Chalk Talk trip on May 20. “We concentrate on length and speed and building them in the weight room.”

Interesting as i saw somewhere that we weren't taking a QB this class. They must really like him. Schichte, the 247 four star QB from Mankato has not received an offer yet.
