Gophers had a camp for seniors today. Lots of prospects in town and other local 2014 recruits I imagine.

Anyone attend or know how it went with Jones or other MN recruits?

I don't give two hoots about twitter, but "PuppyloveMayes" is an excellent choice for a fat kid, or any kid, really.
 



Texas WR Garrett Gray has committed to Texas. He was a top target for us but was offered by Texas yesterday and basically committed on the spot. Must be nice to be able to pick and choose from among the best talent in the country.

I don't think the Suburban East is THAT bad. The SEC is certainly no Lake Conference, but it's at least near the levels of the Northwest and South Suburban. It's also, IMO, significantly better than the Minneapolis and St. Paul City conferences, the Classic Suburban, etc.

Disagree. The Northwest is tougher than Suburban east. Closer to the the North Suburban if anything, but I won't split hairs.... my point is that a private school with great talents favors heavily in comparison to average hs teams

I agree, the Northwest is at the top of toughest conferences in the state. They always seem to have 2 or 3 teams ranked in the top 10. Don't get me wrong, the South and SEC aren't any slouches, but year in and year out the two toughest are the Lake and NW.
 


LB Austin Roberts (Rice Lake, WI) commits to Illinois. He had camped at Minnesota numerous times and was in frequent contact with the staff, but they had yet to offer.

A very long time ago JC tweeted a picture of him shaking hands with Nick Saban. I just shrugged it off, but maybe he's had a relationship with Alabama all along. Damn. Certainly didn't see that coming.

I remember seeing that photo as well and thinking the same thing. Pretty impressive when Alabama offers a kid from Minnesota. That is something that doesn't happen that often. I can see the flood gates opening on offers for JC like Ragnow now!
