Official 2013 Class Recruiting Updates Thread

According to Rivals, he has offers to Arkansas, Houston, Indiana, Mississippi St., Oklahoma St., and TCU, yet is not even ranked. I'm assuming some of those are not current offers. Did he get hurt or something?

I know, it's strange. I couldn't find anything on google. I know that no stars means they haven't been evaluated by rivals.

It doesn't seem like a talent issue though, based o the highlights I've seen.

I would guess one of the 3 visitors from this past weekend.

Daletavius McGhee commits to Gophers. A safety from Georgia.

FSN: Kill reaches out-of-state for Gopher recruits

"I'd say in general, the state probably didn't have as many BCS level guys as they did last year, and the top couple ended up going elsewhere," said Trieu, a Midwest recruiting analyst for Scout.com. "But there just weren't as many guys in the state this year that I think stayed into that Big Ten/BCS level category as they had the year before."

"I think they're still mostly recruiting the same kinds of kids. I think looking at his last two classes, they've had some good ones," Trieu said. "I actually think this one might be (Kill's) best one, although last year's was pretty good. I think he has a little bit of a difficult job recruiting at Minnesota, but I think they've done a great job so far."

"In all honesty, rankings wise I think they're going to finish towards the bottom of the Big Ten rankings," Trieu said. "But I think there's a bunch of teams that are clustered in the middle where the classes anywhere from six to 12 are pretty close. Depending on how a couple of these guys who are considered more of the sleeper type turn out, that could really push the class one way or another. The true value of a class isn't really found out until two to three or four years in the future."

Why can't it be wednesday already?

Please just commit, Tedric!

He looks like a really good athlete.

I'm hoping that Donovahn Jones and Tedric are two of the final 2/4 recruits we are bringing in.

Marcus blog: Gophers recruiting: Illinois prep recruit Chris Streveler rated a top-10 dual-threat QB by Lemming

“He’s got the height, the arm strength, the speed and the smarts,” Lemming said. “He had one of the better years of any quarterback in the country when you watched him. And he played against pretty good competition in the North Suburbs of Chicago. I was really impressed with him. He can do it all. He kind of reminds me of Nelson a little bit. Maybe not quite the arm that Nelson had. But the same running skills and leadership ability. The ability to also just get things done.”

Analysts view incoming recruit from Wisconsin as potential steal for Minnesota

Who is the biggest sleeper in this year’s incoming recruiting class for the Gophers? The best guess here is Owen Salzwedel, a 6-6, 235-pound defensive end from Beaver Dam, Wis.

“He was kind of an under-the-radar type guy,” said Josh Helmholdt, Midwest recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. “I watched him on film, and he’s a big kid. We’ve got him listed at 6-6, 235, and he’ll certainly play heavier than that in college. He moves pretty well at that size. He could develop into a big-time player.”

“He’s got real good potential,” Lemming said. “He’s tall and athletic, with quick footing. He’s going to get bigger and stronger, but he’s a very good athlete. So in the long run, he may be better than Brookins.”
