you can only count FCS wins towards bowl eligibility every other season
Not true. You can count one (and only one) win per year, every year.
you can only count FCS wins towards bowl eligibility every other season
1) Because it's in North Dakota and it's a floodplain.
2) You obviously don't follow your team very closely (or you're a new comer) or this wouldn't come as a shock to you.
Because ND is just sooo terrible, right?
And yes, I have followed NDSU since before Bohl was even discussed. I'm even Googling and can't find anything regarding any such rumor.
I do know that when Bohl was at Nebraska he cheated on his then wife when she was pregnant with his twins. A real classy guy who was thrown out then by his wife and also helped hasten his firing there.
Screams "Trust me, I'm from the internet."
Are you sure you're not thinking Carl Pelini?
Actually no, I do know for sure that Bohl did this. His wife divorced him almost immediately after the twins were born because of his cheating. Cheating on your pregnant wife is about as low as you can get.
On the other hand, you have to give him props for being 40 something and scoring with college chicks.
On the other hand, she has warts.
That's quite the stretch - thank God that he is one-of-a-kind.It makes me smile knowing other fanbases have lakesbison-ish style fans.
This pretty much sums up the NDSU fan base; a bunch of neanderthals not capable of realizing their place in the world of college football because they're all meat heads. Can't wait until their cute litte run of being the world beaters of D2 football is over and they can go back to being irrelevant.
FIFY, Littleguy.
So then, I guess this would beg the age old question: "Was she worth it?"
Just incase you forgotten how much of a headcase Lakesbison is ....this is this morning from the KFAN message board:

NDSU football owns the bottom 5-6 of big ten. No question and with this years NDSU team they play a close game with the top 3
That's right folks, NDSU would "own" Penn State, Minnesota, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois and Purdue and would barely lose to Ohio State, Michigan and Nebraska....
You seriously can't make this sh*t up.....
Keshawn Henderson chose Old Dominion over Minnesota in February.

Oh, come on man, lighten up.
A good sense of humor can take you a long ways in life.
Sorry, I can't laugh about sh!tty meatheaded men/fathers. Bohl is a creep, this is known in the Ath dept inner circles; that is why he is stuck at NDSU despite his recent success. This is the first time GopherGod and I have agreed on anything in 6+ yrs on this board; so you can take it to the bank, Bohl sux; he's too perfect for NDSU.
These guys are correct... from my understanding the "personal issues" coincided with the gameplanning leading up to this epic contest:

As good regional match-ups than they need to put there money where there mouths are and step up to
FBS football and join an FBS conference like the Mountain West or CUSA. Pay for a full 85 scholarships, and the travel and play against teams with the same physical cost's on a weekly basis. It is easy to be a Big fish in a little pond, we could play there role quite well if we played the same level of competition on a weekly basis. It is far easier to beat an opponent on a one or two shot deal than it is to have to beat the same conference teams every year week after week. They want to be FBS than pay up and play the game to play who you want to otherwise leave us alone. Were not obligated to play NDSU by any means, but if they were FBS I don't think the Gophers would shoot it down.
I agree with the Big tens decision as a conference, they regionl FCS teams want to play us than move up to FBS level, otherwise it is a moot point
and the discussion is wasted. The only thing we gain by playing NDSU is the opportunity for Gopher fans to scalp
tickets or a near sell-out gate, beyond that there is very little to gain by helping boost there programs profile. The guarantee that the Gophers will play NDSU again is laughable, because there is no shot they are moving up to FBS level. Beyond football they would have a tough time finding a conference they could be competitive as an entire athletic program cost wise.

It is the same type of win against the same type of opponent FCS, neither meaningful in the grand scheme of winning Big 10 conference games. Neither type of win helps the Gophers compete in the Big 10 conference and you can only count FCS wins towards bowl eligibility every other season. Gophers gain very little in playing NDSU except the possibility of a Win. Playing NDSU helps shine spotlight on NDSU program and there fans with more national TV exposure, why should we bother. Giving exposure to NDSU football to Minnesota kids also hurts the Minnsota walk-on program.
The Gophers are not obligated to help NDSU out by giving them a game period. This is a moot point, it is not like NDSU is going to go full division one anytime soon, so there is no point in debating this, the teams simply are not going to play each other.
You are right about one thing if the Gophers were decent, and have reasonable success 2007 and 2011 don't exist.
Brewster was here for less than 4 years.Yes, there were some character issues pre ndsu, but the guy was given a 2nd chance and has been a good citizen and a hell of a fb coach in Fargo. Those types of mistakes can change a guy, and hes got it on the right track now.
If you want to hate and not ture the page so be it. From most teams i'll gladly accept some pre ndsu Bohl criticism, but MN hired Brew and put up with that used car salesman for 5 years. I often wonder where MN would be now with a guy like Bohl on the sidelines instead of that guy.

Agreed. Getting up for one game is one thing. Week after week playing DIA ball is completely different than playing DIAA. App State and Georgia Southern are making the move, why don't they make the move up and play in the MAC.
Video/photos or it didn't happen.
Bohl is a creep but I doubt he filmed his affair on his pregnant wife but it definitely happened. He sets a terrible example of what a man should be. I wouldn't never recommend any kid play for and receive guidance from someone with such poor judgement and morals.
How's the view from on top of that high horse of yours?
Give me a break, if Bohl was leading your precious Gophers to conference titles, BCS Bowl victories, or, heaven forbid, national championships, I think the moral high ground upon which you stand would seem to be a little lower.
With winning come forgiveness. Maybe someday you'll know what I am talking about, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I we're you.
You need a conference invite, NDSU can't just decide to move up unilaterally. On the other hand, NDSU has never made it know that they are looking for an invite.
