That was a fun half of basketball. Both teams are playing as if the win is important, unlike some of our commentors who think the NIT is bush league!!!

King is pretty serviceable on D when it comes to non-conference opponents and B1G 10 bench players. But yeah, he is a liability if he has to go up against a strong 4

There's the Andre we know and love. Passing the ball away with 1 second on the shot clock and a semi open look.
 



Andre plays the game like a freshman. He has no clue of the situation and his surroundings, and he plays careless basketball.
 

Bobby's theme tonight..."Secondary Defense". He's been stuck on that thought since the 2nd minute of the 1st half.

Nice. Hopefully it has the same effect as it did on Austin. That might kick him into gear.
 

Ya, if we could have 12 DeAndre Mathieu's in all different sizes that would be awesome.

I'm to the point where if EE gets an offensive rebound, he should NEVER try to put it back. Just kick it out to a guard. Dude can not go up without getting absolutely stuffed by the defender. It's really pathetic. And his injury has nothing to do with it.

I know he struggles offensively but it's pretty obvious he is not close to 100%.
 

I've heard Knight mention shot fakes about 100 times now.

Not trying to knock the kid, but it's kind of hard to tell. He's very limited with his mobility and jumping in general.

Don't forget to shot fake...then you get the secondary defense rotation....shot fake....get into that tertiary defense and now you're cooking

I feel like I'm watching Inception.
 


Lack of ball movement is leading to forced shots. Too often Andre is getting the ball in the corner with very little time left in the shot clock.

I hope Pitino makes it clear in the offseason that no starting spot (besides Mathieu's) is safe. Dre Hollins especially needs to be pushed by Nate Mason this summer and in practices. If he continues to struggle and doesn't respond, I see no reason why Mason, or whoever else shouldn't be able to get a big chunk of minutes at the SG spot.
 

Is it just me or did Mo have a chance at that Alley-oop? He just watched the ball fly by.
