NIT Championship: #1 Gophers vs. #1 SMU at MSG [ESPN, Thurs @ 6:00PM]

No time like the present. Now would be the perfect time for Pitino and Larry Brown to put their heads together and schedule a home-and-home series that starts next season. The Gophers can host SMU and their incoming stud freshman Emmanuel Mudiay next season and then make the return trip to Dallas in 2015-16. SMU would certainly qualify as a quality and intriguing home-and-home.

True I wouldn't mind some of the other teams we saw or could've saw at the barn. Mizzou, Utah, St.Mary's, Southern Miss. I wouldn't mind seeing High Point at home the next two years, they should win their league as long as they have John Brown. SMU would be fun next year, it would get our program some exposure in Texas, wouldn't be opposed to playing Houston either for the same reason

The SMU fans sounded kinda dickish on TV. This is the first I've heard anyone talking about this, though. Care to expand?

Hey sorry I just saw this! It may have been different for fans sitting in other sections, but I was sitting 9 or 10 rows up directly behind the basket on the side where the SMU cheerleaders were (the area was almost entirely SMU fans). Multiple groups of SMU fans would turn around and taunt me every time a basket was made or even when someone made a free throw. Additionally, most of them were old guys wearing blazers with SMU tshirts underneath and were beyond wasted and obnoxious. This would be understandable except for the fact that they would stand up (or try to) in the middle of plays so no one behind them could see the game and have full conversations with people while standing up for no reason. Then after the game I went down court side and was taking pictures when a kid wearing U of M stuff next to me started taking pictures behind him. 2 huge guys in their mid 30s that were SMU fans thought the kid was taking pictures of them and threatened to beat the sh1t out of him multiple times and take him outside as well as take his phone and smash it.

Maybe it was just in my section, but it appeared to be all over. Regardless, I'm just happy we won! Go Gophers!

I wonder why SMU fans would've still been hanging around after the game anyway. I wouldn't want to sit around watching the opponent celebrate.
