With all of the negative press, and it being so anti-Minnesota, or anti-Gophers, or anti-Norwood Teague, I have this feeling that,
NT and Ellis are kind of outsiders. And that's not necessarily bad, but...
with all of the negative press, Minnesota sucks, who would want to move there, the weather sucks, Gopher fans are losers with too high of expectations, the Gophers have always been horrible at bb and they suck and they should know their place, how dare they fire such an honorable and righteous and good man and INCREDIBLE coach like Tubby Smith, Minnesota is SO irresponsible with their money, and they have horrible facilities...
I personally would like to see an Alum, like Flip, get other alums to donate for the new Practice facility, and I would like that Alum to be the reason UMn brings in the #1 recruiting class, being all of our LOCAL Big 3 recruits. So an Alum coach, bringing in Minnesota talent, and Minnesota money to fix our problem ourselves.
I just don't like the idea of these outsiders, coming in, making us look bad by firing Tubby, only to hire one of their unknown to the masses Villa 7 outsiders, to come in here and take YEARS to fix the mess we Minnesotans made of our situation.
I keep reading people saying don't worry, Norwood knows what he is doing, whoever he hires will be an incredible hire, all will be well, we need to relax and trust him.
??????????
How do we know for sure that Norwood Teague knows what he's doing?! Seriously?
Just like Shaka did well at VCU, but might have come here and failed, because his style might not of worked in the Big Ten, isn't it possible that what has been working for Norwood Teague at VCU and other mid-majors might not work here?! We have different needs here, and different issues?
I mean, I want to trust that he knows what he's doing. I do. Because I fear that Flip isn't going to even be considered unless they get down to their 8-10th choice, so because of that, I HAVE TO trust him. He's got to be able to get one of those other 7-9 guys ahead of Flip, so if he doesn't know what he's doing, it'll be another long 4-6 years before we can fire whoever that guy would be and then more negative press, and blah, blah, blah all over again.
I just think its time for a Minnesota guy to fix Minnesota's problems.
Think of what that would not only do for the bb program, but the University AND the state as a whole.
