Max

Yeah, it was crazy how 3 Lions rushers were immediately blowing past 5 offensive lineman with no resistance. To the point it seemed rigged...I know it wasn't, but it was that bad.
Yep....would love to see Max get a chance behind an actual o-line as opposed to some patchwork collection of guys filling in for the starters.

Game is already moving at a million miles an hour for a rookie and then you add in having an o-line that is basically just there and not really doing much to help the QB by you know....blocking the guys from the other team.

And Will Fries is one of the guards. He looked like a revolving door all game.
Is that actually true? Didn't watch him (and tbh was not focused on the game that much).

I doubt he grades out worse than Ingram with the Texans this year. Perhaps neither are great options.

Yeah, you know you're in a bad spot when you're longing for the days of Ed Ingram and Bradbury.
Kelly was just an awful signing. Indy had to be laughing to unload that one.

Fries has been fine. He played all year (I know, not ideally the thing you tout). I'd be surprised if an objective, unbiased grading service had him graded lower than Ingram.

Brosmer proved again that he was a 3rd stringer. If Wentz hadn't ended his season, he would've started Seattle and this game.

We didn't "prove" anything, nor did we need to "know" what we "had" in Brosmer.

He was an undrafted rookie. If he had never played any non-mop up snaps for us ... it costs us nothing. Just the fact that he beat out Rypien for the 3rd spot this fall camp is a massive accomplishment for him and probably as good as he could expect.

I truly don't get the love shown by some on here for a one year portal mercenary who won us 7 regular season games ...

KOC has had a terrible year he’s about gotten his young QBs killed behind some of the worst pass blocking in NFL history. His play calling has been brutal. Brosmer would have been better served to just ride pine and learn all year.

Trevor Lawrence is another example where it proven where it can take time for a quarterback to finally get to where he wants to go. He's been around for what, 4-5 years?

Max has struggled, there is no getting around that. That said, expecting a ton out of an undrafted rookie QB is pretty foolish. He clearly has a long way to go before he will be ready to play at this level, very few rookies are ready to play right away in the NFL, even the high rated ones.

Max showed improvement from the disastrous start in Seattle. Is playing behind a patchwork offensive line but at the very least he protected the football and gave his team a chance to win ugly.

It is unlikely that Max's longterm future is as a starting QB in the league but he has a chance to develop into a solid backup. Would love to see him get a chance to play behind a healthy offensive line, the Vikings current line is a complete mess.
This is all well said.

When I saw Lawrence at Clemson, I thought for sure he was going to be a Pro Bowler year-after-year but it doesn't always translate to the next level.

He was totally buffaloed on a couple of stunts where the tackle blocked down and Fries couldn't get over to catch the guy going around the outside. I don't know how he would grade for the whole game, but he looked horribly bad on a number of high-profile plays.

In fairness to all the O-linemen, it was a mishmash and the thing about offensive line play is that if there are one or two guys missing assignments, everyone looks bad. I'm not saying Fries messed up more than anyone else. It's just that when any one guy makes a mistake, the other guys get stretched to the point that they are ineffective.

Last I checked the pohlads were still in charge
Let's see how the 2026 season goes.
Plenty of spurned fans who are bitter.
Changing one 3rd Gen Pohlad for another, as the figurehead, won't rally the fans, or the players.
The debt relief investors are not going "toe the company line" either.
All because Joe needed a job.
