Max has struggled, there is no getting around that. That said, expecting a ton out of an undrafted rookie QB is pretty foolish. He clearly has a long way to go before he will be ready to play at this level, very few rookies are ready to play right away in the NFL, even the high rated ones.
Max showed improvement from the disastrous start in Seattle. Is playing behind a patchwork offensive line but at the very least he protected the football and gave his team a chance to win ugly.
It is unlikely that Max's longterm future is as a starting QB in the league but he has a chance to develop into a solid backup. Would love to see him get a chance to play behind a healthy offensive line, the Vikings current line is a complete mess.
