I think if they really put feelers out there too that they are ready and willing to move up that a conference would snatch them up. They don't need to wait for a conference to show interest. That's their lame excuse.
 

I don't think any conference would take them with that tiny stadium. High school stadiums in Texas are bigger than the Fargodome. And there really isn't any way to expand. Long story short, they will always be FCS

The Sun Belt has been taking FCS teams with similar sized stadiums. But the Sun Belt isn't much of an upgrade for NDSU. They do have plans which could add 1200 seats by building suites, but going to 30,000 would require a new stadium.

I hope NDSU wins, 10-0, and then has to forfeit on a technicality. That way they both lose.

Yes, that Iowa defeat at the hands of Stanford was a "shellacking." The Michigan State game was decided in the final moments. You must be making this up...or the nuance of a 12-0 regular season is a challenge for you...or both.

A program that has beaten 1 bowl eligible team in their history by 3 points thinks they can beat 60% of the bowl teams this year. The team they beat was Kansas State who was playing in their first game since their coveted Collin Klein left them. Based on that they think they are a top half power 5 program. They think they'd beat Tennessee, Northwestern, and Florida among many other laughable predictions. Okay, Buffalo fans.

I'd want Hogeyes to beat the Bison. In that way, If the Gophers beat Iowa it will be that much sweeter.

There is a reason why MN won't play NDSU, and why ndsu' all DI ranking has been higher than MN's since 2011, including this year. We'll get another data point vs. Iowa next year.

NDSU is a great division II program based on their recent history.
A team like this that plays a division I program in a pre-season game is called a cream puff. At least that what Danny B calls them!
Its cute for them to think that they can compete in D1 on a consistent basis and even their Coach said it was a little far fetched during his interview on CCO last year.
You can't have it both ways.

They've been extremely competitive in DI for quite some time now. The question is whether they would be competitive in FBS.

FCS is Division 1
 

This is too precious. You people claim not to care about NDSU, but here we are with a 6 page thread dedicated to them. The best to act like you don't care? Don't acknowledge they exist. All high mighty on here. When is the last time we Gophers have done anything nationally prominent in football? 5-7 and got invited to a bowl game? What an embarrassment. Yet Fargo can pull College Gameday twice and that Fitting guy tweeted they were coming back for a third time. Take a good look in the mirror guys. Who to cheer for? Holy crap. Maybe we should win more than 5-8 a games a year.

We've had this conversation before; but before we crown NDSU as the greatest thing since sliced bread, let's see how they would do playing 12 games of a FBS schedule, especially a power 5 conference schedule.

So what kind of things do you do to help your football team?

The first 18 years of my life were spent around Fargo and the little brother syndrome of Bisonation is something else.

Dangerous combination when an isolated and nationally ignored fanbase gets drunk on their own success. After that it's off to invading other message boards trying to convince others of their significance. Uffda!

They're my favorite people. So much inferiority complex and it's only a 3 and a half hour drive away!
 

I know to some of you this is a no brain decision but read this letter to the editor this year. These are the people us gopher fans in Fargo and western Minnesota have to deal with.

Every Friday at work when I'm wearing a gopher shirt I'm constantly not only reminded of how they beat us twice but how they would kill the gophers still to this day. You can't argue with these people either. These aren't the fans from message boards who actually know their stuff and agree ndsu can't beat alabama. ..these are the dillusional ones and they far out number the rest.

I was hoping to laugh more than I did. I started to feel bad for the guy about the time when he talked about playing Bama tough.

I don't know man a January 1st bowl game seems to be nationally prominent, Also I guarantee Minnesota would have more 10+ wins playing your schedule.
 

They didn't blow us out in the two years we went a combined 4-20.
