Gophers in the portal

Interesting considering we could be losing most of the starting OL.
The obvious answer is we have better guys ready to jump into the boat.

Oops, sorry, I was told not to use the word "we".

He was recruited during the Sanford era?

looks like it.

i wonder if scheme has anything to do with it. Id imagine Kirk might need a different type of OL than Sanford did? Dunno
He was listed at 280 in his recruiting profile and 275 on the most recent roster on Gophersports. I just think he was too much of a project to get him on the field any time soon. His uniform hung on him.

As mentioned, he's the tenth Gopher to enter the portal.
You wonder if homesickness and the weather are a big factor.

There is no poi or kava-kava here in Gopher Country.

I'm sorry, is the insinuation here that the kid has a drug abuse problem? Really?

No pun or insinuation intended. It is a traditional Polynesian drink commonly served at social gatherings. In other islands in the Pacific, they chew beetle nuts. Both of them get you in the groove. They have been doing this for thousands of years.

So I've got 10 players entering the portal: Anderson, Annexstad, Cheney, Clark, Dunlap, Gordon, Henderson, Mapakaitolo, McGill, and Wiley. Am I missing anyone?

At some point 2 or 3* guys that are transferring are better off weaning off caring about playing time and focusing on a degree. Not going pro in NFL so take advantage of the scholarship and get a leg up after graduating. Wasting time transferring credits and programs

Looks like Dunlap to Texas? That’s a great landing spot if you play OL

wtf am i reading

That sucks. Was excited to have him, but can't blame him for more PT and following his HS buddy and QB
He may be following his high school buddy but that doesn't guarantee him more playing time. Still has to beat out whoever they have on their roster down there.

Guess nobody has to stress anymore about burning his redshirt year.

Ewers transferring to a school that will take his less talented wr buddy?

We're fine at wideout. Though I'd feel a lot better if CAB comes back.

@Dragon21 sorry to see your Nephew(?) go.

Any further read or details you care to/feel comfortable sharing?

I just guess I wonder ... why did he come up to Minnesota, if he was just going to end up back at a Texas school? Nothing wrong with giving it a chance. Did he feel like his true freshman experience didn't quite live up to what his recruiting made it sound like it would be?

Thanks for joining us, regardless.
