Gophers Fans,

We have a HUGE opportunity to grab the national spotlight on November 23 against Wisconsin. The program is deserving of it and no doubt our school, athletic department and fan base would roll out the "maroon and gold" carpet for ESPN's College Game Day crew! It is also clear that Gopher fans are fired up at this prospect. Earlier today we sent out a Tweet asking you all to show Game Day that we want them in Dinkytown! In less than 12 hours that Tweet was re-tweeted more than 625 times!!

We are now taking the campaign to the next level and are asking for your help. We're going to compile the Top 25 Reasons Why ESPN's College Game Day Should Come to Dinkytown! Please post your reasons why Game Day should come here. Later in the week, we'll post our favorite 25 reasons, both serious and lighthearted!

We'll start it off...

1. Coach Kill/Claeys and the Gophers program is without a doubt one of the best stories in College Football this season.
2. Lee Corso will LOVE "Doing The Gopher" dance.
3. TCF Bank Stadium is one of the newest stadiums in college football, and a beautiful stadium such as ours will make a great backdrop for Game Day!
4. Chris Fowler will love an early morning breakfast at Al's!
5. Kirk Herbstreit loves Lutefisk, he just probably doesn't realize it yet.
6. College sports are all about history and few programs are as decorated as Minnesota when it comes to national titles!

The U is a perfect spot for Game Day - let's hear more reasons why!!

Lee Corso's FACE will make Goldy Gopher even MORE handsome!!! Just watch, you will see I am right when Corso pulls Goldy's head over his own!!!
 

Because our mascot is a rodent... Not many places can match that.
 



1) No two teams in college football history have played more than MN/WI
2) Gameday has never been to Minneapolis
3) Jerry Kill and Staff are one of the best stories this year.
4) 3 million live in the metro area - we will make sure to bring a great crowd
 


The Axe is one of the best trophies in all of college football.

1. Jerry Kill is one of the most beloved and respected Coaches in the nation.
2. Best mascot in college
3. Best dance line in college
4. Seeing David Cobb hit 1000 yards
5. One of the best rivalries in college fb
6. We have been though a lot as Gopher fans...why not capture us enjoying of the best seasons we've had in recent years
7. It's not often that gameday will have a chance to cover a blizzard ;)...also, the Gameday crew will get to wear some of their best winter outfits.
8. TCF Bank stadium is awesome, and you could do a story alone on the excessive beer lines with WI fans here
9. We're totally cooler than NDSU
10. Because I'd like to see this in my lifetime!

I like the Nook's better, to be honest. Neither Matt's or the 5-8 club really do it for me.

Other reasons:
- Minneapolis skyline view from campus at multiple spots can't be beat
- We're a team who has won 3 consecutive championships as Alabama looks poised to do this year
- Might not be many future opportunities to hit the Twin Cities
- Big Ten games in November are awesome
- College Gameday has only been to the Big Ten 2x this year, and once was for a non-league game (ND v Mich)
- Seeing Lee pick MN and spin Goldy's head
- Multiple spots to set up shop - in front of McNamara/TCF, in front of Northrop, heck even down at the river flats could be fun
- The crew would really enjoy Minneapolis after the game
- Great story beyond Kill's struggles - the U has 8 wins for only the 5th time in basically the last half century, and this win could be program-defining
 

I wanna see Corso pick Goldy , put on the a Gopher head, and spin it!
 

So we can throw snowballs at Corso when he picks Wisconsin
