Gophers announce Oto to be honored on Senior Day

Maybe, just maybe, Oto wanted to do this

I like that I only get to entering 'oto os' in google before I see
Oto osenieks girlfriend
As the 3rd option in the drop downs

And I swear I never searched for that phrase in the past
Though I will admit to googling Ginta lapina, since this is a Latvian thread

Oto's Gopher Basketball career may not have gone exactly as he planned it, but he always worked hard, had a smile on his face, and no one can say he walked away empty handed with a degree and this:

Big difference. Contrbutors such as Iverson, Joseph and Carter left, along with an up and comer in Cobbs. Not a guy (Wally) whos playing time looked bleak, at best, and Oto who is injured

We never know what Wally can do until we see him playing again. Also, you believe Oto's injury but not the fact that Carter wanted to be close to his sister?

Quackter Don and the GH Gestapo once again. Nice!

I'm not supporting jumpstop, but really...ban a guy for having an opinion that you don't like? H3ll, you and your Gestapo would be the only person's left on the GH.

Truth on this issue is that if Oto had a chance at playing, he and the coaching staff would want him to play. You can't replace the experience that he would represent as a fifth year senior. The claims of the coaching staff and the desire to get the scholarship exemption seem to be 100% legit.

It isn't that he has a different opinion, it is that he is clearly trolling. Look at his posting history and you'll see. Almost every one mentiones Tubby; hardly a mention of the current team, let alone any of their games. If he is here as a fan of the team, you could fool me.

I thought you and Tiny were the same person??? Are you responding to your own post?

For me, the distinction is not really whether or not the players in question are fringe players or starters. The distinction is related to the circumstances around the transfer. I agree that Paul Carter is a bad example, but the other players went on to play basketball elsewhere. That isn't the same as somebody that wanted to play two sports or a guy that is too injured to continue. I also think it makes a difference if a player was inherited vs a player you recruited. As the incoming coach, you inherit the baggage (good and bad) of the previous coach.

You should channel your energies towards forming a Tubby fan club and associated message board. In looking at your posting history, it can also be said that most of your posts are about Tubby rather than the team (other than when used for some opportunistic Pitino bashing).

Enough poor Oto don't make any sarcastic comments BS. He is a college athlete who had the privilege to go to school for free and have experiences most people only dream about.

I feel bad that it ended this way for him but he will get as many minutes next year as he should have gotten his entire BIG career...ZERO.

Getting back to Oto. Won't he be 24 in a couple of weeks? 25 when the season ends next year. Only slightly younger than Kevin love.

You criticize others for wanting to ban someone from a message board for having an opinion with which they disagree by comparing them to a fascist state domestic military organization that terrorized millions and murdered hundreds of thousands.

Do you go around campus screaming at kids on an academic scholarship too?

?

I have seen his gf friend many times, but can't tell if that is her from the photo. As my euro bros would say she is 'smashing'.

It takes time for people on this board to understand what you are saying here. Richard's role models are his dad who has not said a single lie in his life and BD who cheats on the recruiting trail a lot worse than Sampson. Richard will tell you what you like to hear just like his dad. Lets hope that he won't recruit like BD.

I think you're just having trouble reading because you're so set on your opinions of Tubby and any coach not Tubby so you read what you want to.

When someone states something as fact when they have no detailed information like in this case, then people will not take them seriously. This guy has no clue, he's guessing. Of course it's possible that this is what happened. It's also possible that Tubby Smith cheats big time. But without any proof what so ever, stating it as fact is ridiculous.

I don't know. A few years ago, when you and your other you were attacking Dr. Don for the quality of his posts, he informed us that Tiny and jamalo were actually the same person. I don't think that he was off. Compare the posts and get back here to defend.

Both of you constantly call people Joe, Saul, ..... for posting anything that you don't like.

I really like how you argue. I have nothing to say. You are right. The only thing that I add is that players transfer from any program all the time. It is not a big deal for a winning team. For example, Izzo has lost two players who did very well in B12 conference. Did anybody say anything about that? I am aware that they broke the teams policy or... However, transfer is a transfer (they might have been kicked out, I don't remember).

This season, for the 1st time I watched Cobb playing since he left for California. It was the game against Stanford. I could easily say why he and Tubby would not get along. He is an AAU-type player who doesn't like to be told how to play. I know that Justin's stat's are excellent. I also know that Tubby is an old school control freak like any other ones. Why should he take so much crap from people for losing a player who doesn't fit into his system? It is becuase he wasn't winning.

Go away. Tubby doesn't coach here anymore. Get over it.

And yet he was our best option when healthy this year.

TRT -- I'm not generally a Tubby apologist but I agree with you regarding the criticism of Tubby regarding transfers. That is down the list of things that a coach should be evaluated upon until we know more about what triggered the transfers to begin with. If Tubby was belligerent and generally just difficult to deal with, then that is on him and his program suffered as a result. But I have no way of claiming that was the case. The guys that transferred may have had legitimate reasons to leave (wanted new opportunity, academic reasons, weather reasons, family reasons, whatever). Kids transfer all the time, like you mentioned.

I'm fairly consistent in not holding a coach too accountable for not landing the local kids that maybe wanted something the University couldn't offer (small school / storied program / different academic profile) and/or holding the coach accountable for kids that transferred from his program, often times for reasons we don't hear about.

Saw Oto's fiancée on the court for Senior day. That picture that was posted doesn't do her any justice. Wow....

Great post again. I wish more people like you start posting here to get the board back from some.........

Over the last 5 years or so, only about 20% of high profile recruits stay home anywhere in the country.

Still waiting for you to post something about this year's team, game results, excitement about the Big Ten tournament, etc. That would, though, require that you actually be a fan of the program

I am excited for the Gophers to even be mentioned to dance in March. Out of the teams that I cheer for, Gophers are the only ones to make it. Purdue, Vandy, MTSU, and TT are out. Finally, my undergrad school (Belmont) that I attended in 80s is out this year too.

Now, are you still going to call me Joe, Saul, ......? Like I have said before, I am just an average fan with no agenda. If my teams win, I am happy.

Go Gophers
