Gopher Hockey Season Thread 25-26

Way beyond discouraging. A credible case could be made that this is the worst team in the country.
Come on, Go4. I get the frustration but that is an absurd statement. We are awful by any standard and I am as frustrated as anyone. But there is no "credible case" to be made that we are the worst in the country. You think this team is worse than every team in Atlantic Hockey? Could we lose to any one of them? But the fact that we are even debating on a message board is embarrassing for this program.

It's probably a lot worse than even that game. Last night was sheer, brutal humiliation as a Gopher fan.
Couple that loss with a total humiliation in football in front of a large television audience, and it's a tough morning to be a Gopher fan. At least football lost to one of the best teams in the country.

You need to wake up. There is absolutely a credible case. They just got worked by LIU at home.

BS. You are an absolute moron if you think there is a "credible case" for this. I agree that this program is in shambles but worst in the country? Hyperbole at its worst.

They swept ND comfortably. Literally makes no sense to call them the worst in country when they’re likely not even worst in the B10

They said a case for it not that they're the worst. This team could easily lose a game to every single team in the country.

If you don't think this team is a fucking disgrace to Gopher hockey, you're lost.

The sad thing is even if retirement tour Bob had tried to recruit there is no money and they wouldn't have gotten any of the big guns that are already tearing up college hockey.

Kinda off topic, but is the chance of a WJ threepeat off the table with Bob coaching?

No. Talent is good enough. Bob can catch despite what Bonin will say. There’s no issue with recruiting for this. They’ll be in the teams expected to medal but it’s tough winning it all no matter how good your team is

Maybe he can recruit some guys to transfer in while he coaches them this year. This gopher team for next year needs it

It's a weak US team. It'll take a near miracle for them to win gold especially with Bob at the helm. Didn't buy the tickets cuz they're expensive and unfortunate it's such a weak US class.

Weak is an aggressive term for a team with multiple first rounders on it. They’re certainly not the favorite but the team has plenty of talent (Eiserman, Hagens, Hutson, Stiga, Potter, Lee, Hensler). The D is not as deep and you’ve gotta figure outline, but calling it weak is not fair as you’re still committing to other teams talent pool, not other us rosters

Agree with you 100% the tickets are way overpriced

Weak compared to recent US teams.
Weak compared to an absolutely stacked Canada team.

I don't know how calling it a weak year is not fair. Weak means relative to something strong which they have had.

They look smack average for most us teams to me. About 8-9’returners from last years squad and a bunch of first round talent. Canada also had a stacked squad last year and bounced early.
