GAME #22: Gophers (15-6, 4-4) v. Northwestern (11-11, 4-5) [BTN, 2/1, 1:00PM)

I've never seen a 7 foot post player as careless in the post than EE. Looks like he doesn't even expect to make his shots.

This is starting to feel like our typical losses to NW, extremely frustrating. It is really hard to watch this team without Dre.

There's no energy today. Northwestern just sucks the life out of their opponents and their crowds.

Who's this guy Austin Hollins? Did he just transfer?

Outscored NU 29-19 over past 20 minutes to tie at 40. And yet this doesn't feel good...

I am so sick and tired of offensive players pushing off and defenders getting popped for fouls as a result.

Love the way Mathieu doesn't back down. NW has been bumping and grabbing him and he keeps battling.

Little Dre is so good at shooting on the move without his feet set. He has to be with his size but it's still really impressive to watch.

All Northwestern is doing is running a screen for Crawford with the PF so King switches on him and then he goes to work. Have to adjust and stop switching that.

Our defense has been pitiful. They are getting to the rim with ease every time down. If we continue to allow that no way we win.

Austin needs to be on Crawford. Period.

King has no foot speed and no help defense makes for easy baskets.

Not sure what your definition of "the rim" is. NU of late has been knocking down contested 10-footers, but I'd hardly call that open looks at the rim. They're ahead right now because their players have been hitting shots, the Gophers not. Would be nice to have our top scorer out there, since they have theirs. But you play with what you have. Crawford has been very impressive.

NU is a better team. Bottom line. If Minny wins, which I hope they do, this would be an upset. I am very, very impressed with the 'Cats. They dictate the game on defense and have a top-level offensive threat (Crawford) to make big shots. Never thought I'd see the day when Northwestern University would have a better team than Minnesota. With that said, the Gophs are doing everything in their power to stay in this one and are showing much more balance than in the first half.

It is really hard to win when you don't have a go to player. That is us without Dre.

Your posts are always so calm, rational and well thought out.

You don't watch basketball often......do you?

It's so refreshing to come out of a timeout and have a good play called.
