This according to a RT by doogie: RT @SwagAir: 2013 Seton Academy (IL) forward Alex Foster has decided to decommit from Minnesota and re-open his recruitment. #Gophers

It didn't seem to me that Pitino was courting him at all.

I'm not worried. Coach will build from the ground up with HIS guys.

Then he either lied to Nadine or made his decision very quickly because she tweeted this at 7:52 PM TONIGHT

I just exchanged texts with #Gophers commit @Foster_34 (Alex Foster) and as of now, he is still committed to #Minnesota.

Hey the decision has to come at some point.

How quickly these kids change their minds!

Apparently we didn't want him anymore:

Per @Foster_34 on confirming decommit: Yeah the (#Gophers) assistant called me and basically said they were going to go a different route.

For the record - he didn't lie. As of 8:05 he had not been contacted by the Gophers at all. He just confirmed that what I tweeted.

I am guessing my previous comment number six is pretty accurate.

That seems pretty classless on the part of Pitino and the coaching staff. Once the kid signs with the school, the new coaching administration should honor that commitment. Best of luck to FOster wherever he lands.

No effort was made to keep him. What is basically telling him he's not in our plans. Good luck to him.It surprised me more that Ellis wasn't courted to wait and see. It is a fact that Teague really keeps up on recruiting and you get the feeling he thought Ellis wasn't a caliber of recruit to worry about. He seemed good on paper.

Teague and Ellis are both basketball guys and by all reports are big into recruiting. My guess is they were not high on either recruit.

Is he really going to bring in his Sun Belt recruits?

Classier to be honest with him upfront rather than have him show up and get no playing time, no?

Could not disagree more, if it's expected that players be let out of their LOI (which I think they should) then why should the coach not be able to get out of the commitment?

I think you're wrong burton34. If a player isn't the caliber you need, there's no need to compound the mistake and keep him around. Let him go now and let him find another school. Good for everyone involved.

So if Buckles can't play next year they're going to have one power forward really Pitino....

Why? Stop with the Minnesota nice B.S. Pitino shouldn't be hamstrung by Tubby's lazy recruiting
