I can't speak on the Fleck-to-Minnesota rumors other than to say the primary source being cited wouldn't be in position to know.
 

KFAN claims that they have offered Fleck, given him 24 hours to make a decision and Harsine is the back-up plan.

It's my understanding they don't need to approve it. There was a motion to require anything > 500K/yr to be approved by the BoR after Teague extended Pitino, but that hasn't been ratified yet. They would like to have that authority, but it's not mandated to date.

Didn't there used to be a running joke on Gopherhole about every guy we recruited had a Western Michigan offer or vice versa? What's the story behind that or how did that start. Kind of Ironic that now we want their coach

Western Michigan used to give out a ton of offers (I think it was under their previous coach), so it seemed like all of our recruits had a Western Michigan offer.

I am trying not to get too excited about the possibility of having Fleck until it actually happens.

What I can tell you is, I have ZERO excitement about hiring Bryan Harsin. The only way I wanted Claeys gone is if we ended up with Fleck. Will seriously reconsider renewing my season tickets if we end up with Harsin. Not that it's going to make any difference of course.
 




What was the name of the guy who took the Gopher job and decided against it? Coached Maryland to a national title.
 

Why would Felck come here for 2.5M when he could demand twice that at a bigger job, just like Tom Herman did?

If not we may be stuck with the NDSU guy. Could Coyle have underestimated how much it would cost to get his guy?? Not our Marky.

I would rather have Coyle not give away the house on this. The foundation is in place Harsin, Fleck or NDSU guy to take it further.
