Go Gophers!!
I think it's interesting. Not shocked an Ohio state guy would negative recruit.Who cares.
I meant it as gophers still got himI think it's interesting. Not shocked an Ohio state guy would negative recruit.
Sounds like Fickle runs a loose ship. What a response from Fickle......maybe someone on my staff called.....I wouldn't THINK we said anything negative.....LOL
He might not be honest there…What a response from Fickle......maybe someone on my staff called.....I wouldn't THINK we said anything negative.....LOL
The Greder quote says "near the end of the cycle".PJ did say it was "early on" when talking about Owusu so maybe he was talking about the previous staff?
Maybe. Or perhaps Fickell didn't know what was communicated by somebody on his staff. Or maybe Fleck and Fickell differ on what constitutes "negative recruiting." Not a big deal to me, but I am not sure what benefit there is to airing the complaints in a press conference. Fleck knows that the wisconsin press corps hates him and is going to take his remarks back to Fickell. I'd just make a note of what was done and by whom and be aware of how they do their business going forward.Story says Owusu showed Fleck the negative material so either Fleck is lying or Fickell is lying.
Negative recruiting has been going on for decades.Welcome to the Wild Wild West of the new recruiting era.
Sounds like it's new for Wisconsin.Negative recruiting has been going on for decades.
If ever there were two guys on Twitter rubbing their sticks together to try to start a fire........interesting, but I'm sure recruiting is full of all kinds of crap we just never hear about.
Go Gophers!!
I think the Badgers only offered him within the last 48 hours......PJ did say it was "early on" when talking about Owusu so maybe he was talking about the previous staff?
What negative material would wisconsin even use?
- The Gophers have the Axe back-to-back and the better record.
- The Gophers have more program stability and consistency.
- The head coach has a long contract, stayed after a big year, and is going into year 7.
- The coordinators have been with the program since the beginning.
- By modern standards, the Gophers have above-average roster stability and retention.
- It's closer to home for Martin.
- Same weather.
All that's left is "they've got a good roster and you might not play much?"
If you're talking to a hs kid, 25-30 years is like talking about the Gopher national titles. All oldGood Lord, these programs aren't even comparable last 25-30 years

To me, it's like the end of game trolling we did to Wisky in '21. I'm all for attacking rivals, stopping the MN nice when it comes to sports, throwing the crap back at them since most of us have been on the receiving end of it for too long.Maybe. Or perhaps Fickell didn't know what was communicated by somebody on his staff. Or maybe Fleck and Fickell differ on what constitutes "negative recruiting."
