Eli King commits to Iowa State

Bummer. He would have been an important player to get. I think he had an ACL injury this season.

That doesn't mean that - in three weeks' time - he can change a kid's mind who has a decision this early.
What I would have hoped is that Ben could have talked him into waiting to make the decision.

Meniscus. Not ACL. From what my sources in SE MN tell me, the surgery was more precautionary, so that King would be 100% for his Senior year.

I was being somewhat sarcastic, but the main point is if we hired Ben because he could get local kids we need early momentum.

This hurts on a few levels, missing out on a really nice MN player, losing him so quickly and to Iowa St.

Glad he didn't go to Iowa. This decision for King was made long before Ben had a chance to make any impact.

Let's get Holloman!
Wanna let us know when kids committing elsewhere falls on Ben? I’m cool with a pass on class of 2021. 2022 seems like a class BenJo can make some headway in. King didn’t have to commit today...

I would buy this as a valid excuse if we didn’t lose a recruit to a 2-22 team. Not sure what they are selling that we don’t have.
This. Iowa at least I could rationalize the logic. (Relatively) interesting college town, recent success, good academics, good facilities. Iowa State is worse on all accounts than both IA and MN. Ames- really?!?

That makes no sense since Iowa state just fired their coach. Unless he was going to Iowa state regardless of who the coach is as they offer a better education in whatever he wants to study. If that’s the case more power to him.

There are 9 MN kids in this class with Gopher offers, can't get all of them.
