Conference Championship Game Thread

Like watching an NFL gaming FG’s and penalties.

So, I’ve been distracted by world and work events; what exactly is the significance of this game? One of Georgia or TX gets a first round bye? I can’t imagine a world where a three loss Georgia team (including two losses to lower ranked teams and an 8 OT whisker close squeaker to GA Tech) is punted out of the playoff for a more deserving team?

Can I?

They are both in. Winner gets a bye. Neither looks all that good. But as already said, $EC fans claiming this shows they have the best defenses and fg kickers in the nation.

One might think if Georgia loses to Texas twice in one season that’s enough evidence to say “yeah, they’re not championship material”. Why not let one of the other one or two loss teams in.

Oh yeah, GA eyeballs.

Fun last play of the half. For everyone but Beck....

So if Georgia loses and Beck is out long term does the committee give Georgia the FSU treatment?

Can’t wait for the gymnastics

I can’t imagine any team would ever again allow that their qb is injured or still injured until playoff game time, or at least until the sages at CFB have handed down their edict. Good to go!

Watching this game makes me think that the SEC doesn't really want Texas winning their first year in the conference.

Georgia punter blew his knee out.

Texas scores a TD to tie it up @ 13-13.

Fun game.

Absolutely. Great point. I can’t see how the two situations can be reconciled.

Moot point if Georgia gets auto bid.

One interesting thing is that Georgia uses the QB as their holder. Beck and now the backup is the holder.

Will the Tejas PK have an opportunity for a third miss?

If he does, K hop he makes it, as there’s no way to live it down in a place like Austin.

Georgia/Texas OT. Let's shoot for 12 of them.

Texas just demolished the Georgia QB. He won't know what day it is.

Carson Beck is going back in but his arm is dead

Georgia saved the SEC the embarrassment of letting Texas come in & possibly winning it in their first year.

Georgia beat Texas in Austin when they played. Georgia is now 2-0 against Texas. Should Texas now be out based on that line of thinking??

Georgia is not the same team without Beck so their ranking should drop even though they won.
