Illinois/OSU game is pretty nuts. Underwood was tossed out of the game with about six minutes remaining in the game and Illinois went down by 16 at home. Cockburn fouled out with about 4:30 remaining....and the Illini were still down 14. Went on a huge run.....less than two minutes remaining....and they pull the deficit down to 2.
 

Oregon State and USC headed to 2nd OT behind some unreal play of OSUs DeShawn Davis.

USF is a great example of fact there is more than enough talent and size to go around. It can be a mix of prep and portal, but no reason Ben Johnson and staff can't pull in a significant upgrade to help with the absent inside game. A scoring guard, and a true inside presence, and you have something going. A handful of mid-majors have found success this way, and it's not that different in the B1G. Look at USF's roster. If you removed the school name, you'd think it was B1G.
 

Big game in the Sun Belt tonight with Texas State @ Troy. Pretty sure Texas State has the conference crown wrapped up, but Troy put a beating on them earlier in the year and would suspect they want to exact some revenge.

Speaking of Texas schools, check out some of the defensive stats on North Texas Mean Green.
First and foremost they are on a 13 game win streak, 21-4 overall.
They are the stingiest team in the nation on allowing points, 55.6 a game.
Stingiest in the nation at allowing 3 pt attempts, 14.6
Opponents only make 4.1 which again makes them the leaders.
Pace is at 62.2, so that obviously contributes, but wins are wins, no matter what style.

Yeah, think with a little more time this year he can do a better job. That's my hope and expectation. Golden did well on that.
 




A bunch of great games today/tonight.

MAC tournament is going to be a tough one coming up (5 teams deep). Akron-Ohio was tight last night, and neither is even leading the conference.
 

Big game in the SEC with Kentucky @ Arkansas, also Auburn is @ Tennessee.
In the A10, Davidson is @ Fordham and can't afford any stumbles with a 1 game lead over VCU and Dayton who are both on the road today also.
Vermont Catamounts making mince meat of the American East Conference. John Becker has won 20 or more in 10 of the 11 seasons he has been there. 252 wins equals 22 a season.
Huge one in the NEC today with Wagner @ Bryant. Both at 15-2 and sharing the lead. Wagner won the first meeting.
Think Pitino will grab a W today with Air Force visiting.

Gonzaga @ St Mary's

I didn't see the 1st one, but I saw the one that went off MSU's back and out of bounds to run out the clock. The MSU guy didn't even know what happened.

The first one Michigan st threw toward their own basket and it went out of bounds untouched which allowed Purdue to inbound from their own front court.

The officials reviewed that play forever with the previous Wisconsin sideline play as a precedent.

Gotcha. Yeah, sounds putrid. Seems like time spent on replay is getting talked about more and more.

Too bad I missed that. Just turned it on. Arkansas looking to be gaining steam lately.

Heard that too. lol.


Doubt anyone was watching....but FSU tied their game with Virginia at 61 with less than ten seconds left. Virginia drove the court and hit a jumper with one second remaining. FSU threw a inbounds a little past half court and Matthew Cleveland (the guy that hit the tying layup) threw up a turn around prayer and hit it....nothing but net. FSU has been a massively underachieving team this year.
 


Murray State behind all day comes away with a 2 point win on the road at Southeast Missouri.

I hope St. Mary's brings it tonight against Gonzaga
