College Basketball 2021-2022 Thread

So, you think it's kind of push back from the Michigan/wisconsin thing? They got Izzo for a technical in the Iowa game. Just a thought running through my feeble mind.
Yeah maybe. Just think that’s something the refs should be ignoring.

Good to see the Bonnies back to normal. Three St Bonaventure starters went 39 minutes and a fourth went 37 in their 73-55 win over Rhode Island. They have the 4th, 5th, 9th and 13th in minutes played per game in Div1. (Kind of addicted to looking at their minutes after a game.)

Think the flame went out on the Aztecs in their Mountain West hopes. San Diego State lost a one point decision at Boise State last night as the Broncos scored the last two points. Tonight is another big match up with Wyoming at Colorado State. Maldonado, Roddy, etc.

Top four teams in the Missouri Valley are busy tonight. Evansville @ Loyola (Purple Aces suck. Coincidence Lickliter is the coach?) Northern Iowa @ Indiana State, Bradley @ Missouri State and Drake @ Valparaiso

Teams with the longest current losing streaks.
Delaware State Hornets-20 (Last W was Nov 16 against a school named Regent)
Lamar Cardinals-18
Georgetown Hoyas-16
Oregon State Beavers-12
Duquesne-12
Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles-10
Green Bay Phoenix-10
Colombia Lions-10

Oof Georgetown and Tre Williams' team. Wonder if Pitino even offered him a spot in nm

Ouch! Looks like Wyoming didn't get much out of Moldonado in their loss to Colorado State. Played 25 minutes, fouled out with 4 points. Last time he was held to 4 points was almost 13 months ago against San Diego State. Been even longer since he last fouled out.

Roddy puts up 26 and 11 boards. The guy is a force

In the Summit, what once had the makings of a big game, but isn't anymore, is conference leader South Dakota State @ 2nd place Oral Roberts. 4 games up and my lousy skills at math say it can't happen.

St Mary's having a great year, but what are you going do to? Probably take care of business tonight @ San Diego. They are undefeated at home and will face Gonzaga there on the 26th in the WCC

Belmont has one last hope tonight when they visit Murray State in a game between the top two in the Ohio Valley.

Couple more days before Wagner is @ Bryant, two top teams in the Northeast. Wagner won the previous meeting 84-81 on their home court. Bryant Bulldogs one game behind the Wagner Seahawks.

Iona turning out to be a great fit for the elder Pitino. Things would really have to go south for the Gaels to not win the conference crown in the MAAC, up 4 games on the Monmouth Hawks.

Have to say one thing for Gillispie's Tarleton State, they sure went through the meat grinder at the beginning of the season. Stanford, Kansas, Wichita State, Michigan, Gonzaga.

Randy Bennett didn't waste any time turning it around at St. Mary's after an off-year in 20-21. He also has a 7'1" Australian (go figure. . .) joining the team next season. No they're not Gonzaga, but he continues to do a great job there.

And I agree on Iona, and it's proof there are so many talented players out there, sure Pitino helps, but there's plenty of talent to go around, which brings us to the Gophers ability to pull in some inside muscle/rebounding for next season.

Will be interesting to see how long it will be for Gillispie to resurface beyond Tarleton.

Kind of why I was following California Baptist for a bit at the beginning of the season. Quite the international squad. They have those two Armstrongs, the younger one, a freshman, dishes out assists like crazy. He has had games of 15, 12, 12, 11, 10 assists. (But, they started to suck once they got in conference.)

Barely watching St. Mary's this year and they look so underwhelming, that Loyola Chicago team last year looked so much better and both teams could potentially be 8 seeds in their brackets

I agree, but it's been proven countless times that most of the teams that get in, can pull off a win, which is why I've quit trying to predict which teams end up where, etc. I don't view St. Mary's even close to same way I do some of these others like a few in the MWC, Missouri Valley. My main thing is Bennett didn't have them down long (one year) and they've bounced back this year.

Not sure if anyone is watching the Maryland/Indiana game.....but off a missed free throw.....an Indiana player got a hand on the rebound....slamming it down off the floor.....up.....and into the hoop.

I've never seen that happen.

San Francisco needs this game. Curious to see if they play like it.

Not able to watch the game, but the Jackrabbits are in trouble. Oral Roberts up 50-41 over South Dakota State.
Overtime.
Jacks win 106-102

Dang, how old is that guard on San Francisco, Jamaree Bouyea? Looks like he's in the 30's.
