Bo Ryan and Richard Pitino post-game handshake

You know why people HATE Wisconsin? Hint, it's NOT because they're successful. Nobody in the B1G was hating on Ferentz/Iowa's football team half a decade ago when they were doing well (and nobody's really hating them still, except on the basis of rivalry). Few hate Izzo and MSU. Those who win the right way and are classy about it? People generally don't hate them.

This is now my sig. Let me know if that's an issue and I'll remove it, but I think this is perfect

Dekker made a free throw at 1:12. We held the ball until :05 left on the shot clock when Smith threw up that shot. In fact....if I remember that play correctly....Smith passed on a wide open three pointer earlier in the possession. Not to mention there was still :42 seconds left in the game when he took it.

The Badger got the ball back with :31 second left in this game. Could have easily run the clock out. They took a shot about :14 seconds in.

Nice try though.

Your gripe is with howeda7, not me. He said not holding the ball with under a minute left was unclassy. That is, of course, ridiculous, and I was just pointing that out.

Like I said.....an 11 point game with :42 is a bit different than an 23 point game with :17 left. Plus they could have run out the clock.

Apples to oranges.

Figures you are confused. I mean you read the post because you know it was the second post I made. Sorry I can not help you scroll back to the post so you can reread it.

When you get your arse kicked by 26 points our team should shut up, shake hands and get to the bus as quick as possible.

Stop them it is D-1 sports. Gophers played 2 against 5. King and Mattheiu were the only two who showed up.

Benchwarmers shooting threes is what people are worried about? How about Brust handing Dre his lunch and dinner.

You are confusing a game completely out of reach and a conceding defense with a game that is nearly out of reach. Again.....one of those shots came :14 seconds into the shot clock while the other came as the clock nearly expired. No teams start taking shot clock violations at :42 as they are only up 11 points.

Your example was a poor one.

Nope just one name here. I might only count as a half seeing as I am the ghost of poster.

Well, that's interesting, because the first post in this thread with that user name was...

What does the number of posts have todo with anything. Seems like a distraction from what I actually posted.

...with only one previous comment a month ago, about being able to post here again.

I totally agree......we get hammered and people are worried and talking about what happened during garbage time? I think the focus should be what happened the first first 38 minutes.....not what happened the last 30 seconds. I wish we had a program like Bo Ryan has over there.

I seriously don't even recognize this place after a big loss. 90% of the posters never post here. Y'all should come party with us after wins.

LOL

Tom Izzo's teams have attempted shots with a +20 point lead and the shot clock turned off SEVENTEEN TIMES since November 2009.

Let me try this again: I agree with you. howeda7 does not. Argue with him.

The situation tonight =/= the situation in the game at the barn.

You chose to turn his words into an equal situation.

Nice try though.

One team had their starters in, the other had a guy who has played maybe 20 minutes all year jack up a 3 that happened to go in. Also the difference is that the UW boards didn't go crazy calling Pitino classless. Its not Ryan's fault your team quit before the final buzzer in the biggest game of your season. Nice try though.

20 years ago they were Rose Bowl champions.

Yep, you guys have the football pedigree of Alabama and the basketball history of UCLA. Ask any Badger fan under 35 and they'll tell you. I grew up in Madison, dude, and UW had a long, long run of mediocrity or just plain awfulness in both sports up until the early '90s. Camp Randall was half filled and basketball tickets at the Fieldhouse were the easiest tickets in town. The last 20 or so years of success are the outliers in their otherwise unexceptional history.

I have never in my life met a Badger fan who does't acknowledge that we were straight booty for the vast majority of our history. That doesn't mean we can't be happy with the last 20+ years now where we have turned it around. You dismiss 20+ years like it is a flash in the pan, which is disingenuous at best.

This is really ridiculous that we're this obsessed with trying to find another reason to dislike Wisconsin. They're a rival already, we can't seem to beat them as often as they beat us, but we keep looking minor league by crying about this stuff.

Everything you said had nothing to do with it. Could have run out the clock with a 23 point lead is completely different from beating the buzzer with :42 seconds left and only an 11 point lead.

This post proves you have little comprehensive capacity.

There are a few fans that dismiss these past 20 years. Most do not.....and acknowledge that the Badgers have had much more success in both basketball and football over these past 20. However, when Badgers fans say things like "it's not even a rivalry anymore", you may garner a few more of these responses.
