Just have to go back 11 years to the end of February - first few days of March 2014 where we had a similar Arctic outbreak as what we're seeing this week.

That winter was brutal with a lot more snow than this one. Ended up being the 9th coldest all time at MSP, and coldest since 1978-79.
 


Yeah we cut our fishing trip to Red Lake a day shorter due to the cold.
 


Thank goodness for the $hitty snow blower today. That wake left by the plow was hefty.
 


And tomrrow is supposed to be the worse day of the two.

It's currently 79 degrees in Fairmont on the southern end of the state and 28 degrees in Warroad to the north. Some places could get up to 85 while northern areas stay close to freezing.

Spring weather up here is a flip the coin type. Ya never know from day to day
 

Looks like we could see a tornado somewhere in Minnesota by about Monday. We have been in a early-season tornado drought in Minnesota for the past couple decades.

Historical Mar/Apr significant tornadoes. We only get destructive tornadoes this time of year around every 20-30 years so we are definitely due.

4/14/1886: St. Cloud / Sauk Rapids F4 - Minnesota's deadliest tornado (72 dead)
4/5/1929: East Central MN - F4
4/30/1936: Southern MN - F4
4/30/1965: Albert Lea / Waseca F4
4/26/1984: Minneapolis to Mounds View - F3
3/29/1998: Comfrey / St. Peter - F4
 



Could get interesting this evening. I’m seeing a lot of schools canceling activities. Possible PDS?

Looks like the severe weather completely missed our corner of southwest metro. Didn't even get rain.

Could be an interesting evening here in Wisconsin.

Hopefully some of that rain makes its way up to northeast MN where the fires are.
 

I have never once in my life had to switch to air conditioning and then switch back to heating. This will be a first.

It was maybe the second time ever for me last year, but I think I had to do it twice.
 

I brought in my weather rock for maintenance. Running it through the tumbler right now. Should be done in a day or two. Always accurate.

I tried to gut it out, but I have just flipped the furnace back to ON.
 

How much rain did everyone get so far this week? My rain gauge said 2.5 inches.
