Blocks. Royce leads Iowa State in:

PPG - 13.6
RPG - 9.6
APG - 4.5
SPG - 1.1
BPG - 1.1

He also leads them in T/O too (3.9), for the jaded. Even so, an assist to turnover ratio of 1.15:1 isn't too bad. Hell, a 2:1 is considered "good"...for a point guard.
 

Don't forget...

Oh...I nearly forgot the +3.0 GPA he's carrying...an area where, sadly, he does not lead the team.
 

I honestly don't understand A/TO ratio as a measurement. Makes about as much sense to me as the "TOTAL" column on the Williams Arena "RebStlBlk" mini-board.

I want to see more focus on Steal-to-Turnover ratio. Compare the number of times you take it to the number of times you give it.

While I agree, steals to turnovers wouldn't exactly be a great measure of anything either. There are too many definitons for "turnover" in basketball. For example, offensive fouls, the most subjective judgement call in the game, is considered a turnover. About half of Royce's turnovers are of this variety. How do you feel about a "flop"??

Also, would defensive rebounds be considered a "take away"? How about blocks, but only if they end up in another player's, a player in the same uniform as the blocker's, hands?

He also leads the Minnesota Gophers basketball program in a few categories.

Most pants attempted stolen from Macy's: 1
Most MOA security guards assaulted: 1
Most laptops stolen by self or friend: 1

Had a few on Joe Coleman awhile back. Have a feeling I'll be back discussing future TC recruits and other players of mutual interest (Matt Thomas) in the near to immediate future.

There were 4 or 5 area recruits at the Kansas game.

Alleged laptop taken. I think there was more to that story then we will ever know.
 




Royce hit the game winner tonight with about 3 seconds to go as Iowa State upset Kansas State.
 

The "Legend" grows....

So the story gets better for Royce and the Cyclones. White hits the game winning shot with 1.8 seconds left to beat Kansas State at home after getting down by 14 points. Had a very big dunk to get the rally started and finished it at the end. Pushes the Clones to 16-6 overall and 6-3 in the Big 12.

22 points, 8 boards, 4 assts, 3 blocks, and 4 TO.
 

My girlfriend goes to ISU. Last year, he asked her and her friends to come to their apartment after dinner. :confused:

I agree that is maybe the stupidest "stat" I've ever seen displayed at a sporting event. I wrote Maturi an e-mail about it and described my abnormal hatred for this waste of a stat, suggesting they put something interesting up there, like TOs or Assists. Also put it in the annual review we get to fill out as season ticket holders. It's absurd, considering the stats available at the game are quite limited to begin with.

Nothin'.

No wonder we lost. We were behind by 10 all game in TOTAL.

Royce White is the only example you need to know to be able to assuredly say that Joel Maturi should be fired. Admittedly according to JM, the only reason Royce isn't in Maroon and Gold is because Joel felt the pressure of the media and suspended him while the U of M Pee Dee "were investigating" the laptop incident.

Absolutely unforgivable.

I'm not sure that is the only reason, I have no idea what really happened but I just don't think it was Tubby that didn't want to let him back on the team. I think the administration, and maybe Maturi said no after he quit. He still wanted to remain a Gopher even after everything.
 

Royce White sunk a game-winning jumper with barely a second remaining against Kansas State in Iowa State's last contest. He finished with a game-best 22 points. I wonder what Smith, and especially Joel, are taking this considering White has blossomed into one of the best overall players in the nation, if not the best.

Gottleib is an @$&%+#£. He used to give decent, informEd analysis, but he's turned into a Bayless or Cowherd who looks to get attention by ripping everyone.

He's one of the dominant players in one of the top conferences in the nation, the only B1G players that compare to him are Green and Sullinger, I would have to say he has.
 


Iowa State locks up NCAA tourney bid

Clutch 65-61 win at K-State. Scott Christopherson bombs away for 29 points. 11th Big 12 win for Cyclones ensures a bid, taking off any pressure there may have been heading into their difficult final 2 games (@ Mizzou, Baylor in Ames).
 

It was a great road win and a sweep of KSU. Most had ISU in, but a few said they didn't have a good enough road win. Well, they took care of that today and punched their ticket for sure.
 


How can fast Freddy be so successful in ames, so quickly?

Great practice facility?
