All Things NCAA Tournament Games

Didn’t need him
Probably not. We had enough turnovers as is. But in all seriousness he would have helped. But remember the early Marcus Carr we had certainly had a lot to learn. He got his early experience here and then took that experience down the road, where after several years he became a serviceable guard.

Carr with a turnover when the game is on the line.
Seen it before…
In a text thread with a bunch of friends, I remarked, late in the game when the score was tied, that it was going to come down to which team keeps their composure and executes. Miami kept their head and ran their stuff, and Carr dribbled into the lane without a plan. Ball game.

Carr is a bit of an odd player. Watching the game--and maybe this is more a function of the Texas offensive set--he seems to have a difficult time playing off the ball and still pounds it into the ground when he has the ball. Just can't seem to play within the flow of the game.

Exciting game though. Bodies flying all over the place. Looked like an over-the-top rope Battle Royale at several junctures.

Ben Johnson
I hope Ben watched that game and heard the stat mentioned towards the end of the game: Miami didn’t attempt a 3-pointer in the 2nd half. If you don’t have players on the court that are not good 3-point shooters, don’t keep heaving them up. You can win with quality 2-point shots.

I'm at the point where I never want to see anyone take a three pointer again. Sir Jabari Rice is about the only guy I've seen this tournament that I'd give the green light to.

Most of these guys have no clue out there.

Bucky loses in the NIT semis by 2 after scoring 13 points in the second half. Fitting.

Zero points in the final 9 minutes. The second semi-final going on now between UAB and Utah Valley State is a very entertaining up and down the floor game.

It depresses me to think that the Badgers scored at will in the paint against the Gophers without hardly any resistance or adjustment, and North Texas finds a way to defend them. (Also that Purdue made our team look like the junior varsity, and they go and get beat by a 16 seed with a competent game plan.)

Honest to God, people, this is managing to get worse as we speak, and the Gophers aren't even playing games.

Looked like both Wahl & Crowl wee scared to take the last shot - wimplification has been completed!

Agree on Wisconsin.

Purdue is a silly example. They won the Big Ten going away and won the Big Ten Tournament. Most teams had trouble figuring them out. The loss to FDU was one game and obviously a complete fluke. They just fucked up that day.

I think SDSU has missed 5 or 6 bunnies within 5 feet already. Gotta put those down, boys.
Yeah, they need to hit those. Maybe butterflies? I don't know, but they are definitely in this.

UConn really plays lockdown “D”. Aztecs really haven’t had an uncontested look at the basket in about 5 min. They might be bunnies but there has been a hand in their face on many of them.
