All Things Minnesota Timberwolves 2022-2023 In-Season Thread

Just think if they just took care of business against the likes of Detroit x2, San Antonio x2, Houton, Charolette we'd be sitting like a game back from the 2 seed.

The wolves remaining schedule is an absolute killer. They completely pissed away their margin for error and will be lucky to make the play in.

If nothing else, you have to always appreciate Shaq's honesty and giving it to you straight.

Shaq: I Can Only Name A Few NBA Players

"O’Neal was speaking on NBA on TNT‘s postgame show when he made the comments in reference to saying he didn’t know who newly acquired Lakers forward Rui Hachimura was.

“Albert Einstein said things you can get access to you should never memorize,” O’ Neal said. “If you ain’t a top 10 player, I don’t know who you are, that’s no disrespect. How am I supposed to know who the kid was?”

I actually trust Shaq's opinion more than Chuck's and for sure Kenny's.

Twolves now 11-12 with KAT and 15 -13 without

So going into the game they were a game under .500 with KAT and a game over without him. They mentioned that a year ago the Wolves were 25-25 and going into the game they were 25-25.

They are now 26-25.

Wolves (26-25) beat Memphis (31-18) tonight 111 - 103.

Memphis lead 7-6 at the 10:02 mark of the 1st. The Wolves lead the rest of the game.

As a Minnesota sports fan it feels like Gophers Men's Basketball should lose, but sometimes they don't. Vikings should win, but the Defense isn't great and sometimes their Offense only shows-up for half a game. Women's Hockey should win and usually do. Tonight they beat UMD 3-1. Men's Hockey should win and usually do. Hammered Michigan State tonight 7-0.

Wild? They should win and usually do. Except in the playoffs. Timberwolves? They usually lose but If they shoot well and take care of the ball they can win. They shot well tonight but once they got that lead it was Harlem Globetrotters team and they turned the ball over.

Oh and Anderson really wanted to show Memphis they should have kept him and Edwards really hates Ja Morant.

Sacramento comes in for two games starting tomorrow.

When KAT comes back they will pull Anderson from the starting lineup. Ouch.

Don't think they will, but with the way they have been injured it may not come to it anyway. If not McDaniels will go back to the bench.

The Wolves are more fun to watch, without KAT.

Yep when they win. Don't remember too many people saying how fun they were to watch when they lost to Detroit and Houston.

Minnesota topped Memphis at Target Center for the second time in as many tries this season, downing the Grizzlies 111-100. The win moved Minnesota over .500 for the first time since Dec. 21.

The difference between Minnesota last spring and now may be as simple as Kyle Anderson playing for Memphis back then and the Timberwolves now.

He’s the stabilizing veteran force the Wolves need when things start to teeter. In the fourth quarter Friday, anytime Memphis started to hint at a comeback push, Anderson made a play to shut it down.

With fewer than two minutes to play, it was Anderson who picked Ja Morant’s pocket, then delivered a no-look pass to Jaden McDaniels for an easy layup in transition to extend Minnesota’s advantage to 14.

“Safe pair of hands, guy who’s looking to make the right play. One of our issues closing has been the fact that we’ve got a lot of guys who are wired to score, that’s what they want to do,” Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said. “But you’ve got to trust a little bit of action and some setup before that happens. He just almost always makes the right play.”..

Just looked and at least 10 teams in the West and 3 in the East could say something similar.

Lakers are 23-26, Suns are 25-25, Golden State 25-24, Dallas 26-24, Clippers 27-24 and Pelicans are 26-23. Can't imagine and not gonna look to see, how there fans are reacting to such disappointing seasons.

Much like the Wolves losing their leading rebounder, scorer and 3 pt shooter in Towns all those teams have lost one or both of their top players for large chunks of their season. Can't remember such a convoluted season.

The Wolves were trying to change their entire Offense on top of it. No one knows how that will go either.

Saw this stat in a Tweet from Johnny K. - before the Memphis game.

When Taurean Prince plays, the Wolves are 17-11. that includes 12-3 in his last 15 games.

When Prince does not play, the Wolves are 7-14.

so after the win, the Wolves are 8-14 without Prince.

DLO on fire to start this game. Don't start Target on fire, DLO!

Minnesota used a 13-2 third-quarter run to take the lead for good, then beat back every Kings challenge in a 117-110 victory over Sacramento. The All-Star duel? Give the edge to Edwards — who scored 10 of those 13 points during that run — who outscored Fox 34-29, though Fox closed hard down the stretch with 21 of his point in the fourth quarter.

Edwards was one of a group of Wolves who carried the team at different points. D'Angelo Russell scored 25 points, going a perfect 7-for-7 on threes in the first half. Naz Reid scored 14 off the bench. Jaden McDaniels had 15 points and eight rebounds. Rudy Gobert scored 13 points with 14 rebounds..

The Wolves (27-25) won their third game in a row and earned their fifth victory in six games. Sacramento (27-21) lost its second straight..

Outside of Reid tonight, the bench was 3-15 and 0 of 9 from three.

The bench blew tonight. The starters overcame it.

Two huge wins back to back!!

Give ANT space in the lane and he’s a top 5-7 scorer.

Howl Wolves!!
He's not a top ten player yet but he's a top ten talent and he's top five in fun and charisma. I'm so glad the wolves didn't choose Ball, though he is also a very good player.

The Wolves are 11-4 in January, the second-best record in the NBA behind the Philadelphia 76ers (11-2).

Howl Wolves!!

Get Reid the fuk out of the game.

Wolves lost to Kings in overtime 118 to 111. Turnovers and missed Free Throws killed the Wolves tonight. Close game obviously, but both teams played badly in stretches.

Golden State is here Wednesday night.

0 for 7 in the second half of that game. (first game against the kings)

4-16 in this game.

DLO in a nutshell.

They end up in the play-in (or worse) and there's just a pile of coulda/shoulda/woulda games that are going to come back to sting them.
