You think that Butler would have stayed here? Based on what? Check with Bulls management and the 76ers about how steadfast Butler is and get back to me.
But will give you credit for trying to slide KAT into a discussion of Butler's tendency to not show up.

Maybe he wouldn't have stayed, or maybe he would have if we would have put a better team around him. KAT would have returned a ransom in a trade at that point.
Since being traded Jimmy has played in 256 regular season games. KAT has played in 244. Plus Jimmy has played in 48 more playoff games over that time.
So KAT has played in far fewer games than Jimmy over the same time period, maybe you're the one who has been fooled?

Yeah Thibodeau would have put a better team around him and Butler is right up there alongside Jabbar, Malone, Garnett and Stockton as NBA Iron-Men.
In a post about Butler noticed you didn't respond to the question regarding Butler and his situations in Chicago and Philly Makes sense since all you seem to want to talk about is KAT.
Find somebody else to play with or respond to the many KAT threads that are already on here. Plenty of people should want to play with you on that.

Just be glad the kid isn't a Twins fan. Next Summer they'll be flying-up from Argentina to Minneapolis and his idol Buxton will be on the bench.

I'm not sure what you're rambling about here but Thibs literally brought Butler with him from the Bulls and they wanted to go into rebuild mode. The 76ers wanted to build long term around Embiid and Simmons.
I find it funny that Wolves fans like to take shots at Jimmy when he and KG are the only 2 stars who have played for this laughing stock of a franchise that know how to win.
Instead we keep trying to build around soft players who don't know how to win like Wiggins and now Towns, and Towns plays less than Jimmy. Jimmy had those two pegged correctly the second he walked in the door. Yet fans wonder why we can never stay above .500 and rarely make the playoffs.

From what ive read, he like wiggins. Wiggins was just meant to be a third or fourth option. Towns was the one he didn't like. And by the time Butler showed up, Towns was already considered the alpha, so Butler knew that wasnt going to work.

You're right, but we were paying Wiggins like he was the 1st or 2nd option, and now we've done the same with Towns, and neither are worth it. It's why the Wolves continue to be the worst franchise in all of professional sports.

That's evident.
- They didn't come here together. Thibs got here in 2016. On 6/22/2017 He traded Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn (drafted in '16) and Lauri Markkanen to the Bulls for Butler. Thibs "rebuild" seemed to solely consist of bringing old Bulls players in here. In 2018 that rebuilder Thibs drafted Josh Okogie and Keita Bates-Diop. Another couple of failures.
- Butler didn't want Wiggins out. He just wanted his money. Butler actually wanted Wiggins to stay here because he would acquiesce to anything Butler asked.
- The 76ers tired of Butler. Soon as he made it clear that the franchisee should build around him not Embid and Simmons, Philly wanted Butler out of there as soon as they could. They were surprised when they couldn't get more for him.
- Not sure where you are reading all these shots people are taking at Garnett. Did you see the reception he got the last time he showed-up at Target Center? Very few people take shots at Garnett. Thibs and your Iron-Man Butler? They do and they've certainly earned every shot they received.
People who have followed the Wolves for a long time can easily not worship Butler and still understand how the Wolves make one bad decision after another. They have been horrible for nearly all of their existence.
The Wolves are terrible and Butler is overrated and seems to be a miserable guy. Not sure why that bothers you so much but it's true.

Butler was right with the 76ers as well. They could have built around both he and Embiid, but they valued Simmons more, much like the Wolves valued Towns more. Both were wrong.
I wasn't taking a shot, or trying to say anything bad about KG, just saying that this franchise has had 2 stars that knew how to win, and he was one of them. Butler and KG are cut from the same cloth, and know how to win with a lack of talent around them.
Butler is underrated, not overrated. He's been on 4 different teams and has only missed the playoffs once in 12 seasons. Every team he has left has gotten worse after he was gone.
The Wolves need to find and keep and listen to more guys like Butler and even Pat Bev to a lesser extent, and then maybe we can win at a higher level again. Stop giving paper tiger stars max deals and expecting to win.

I was with you and wanted Wiggins traded instead of LaVine for Butler. But unfortunately I don't think we are much more competitive with LaVine and Towns than we are today.

Yup. Though, to be fair, Lauri took 4-5 years to become Lauri F-in Markkanen.

Yeah, he didn't become a star until this season but looking at his stats from the 1st year on, he's been a good player his entire NBA career. Though he did have some injury trouble too.

God I hated Wiggins. LaVine and Towns could have worked with the perfect collection of teammates. We all know that wasn't gonna happen though.

They held on in the fourth quarter even amid a racuous atmosphere inside Smoothie King Center after Pelicans coach Willie Green was ejected for arguing with officials with 5 minutes, 54 seconds left. Jaden McDaniels had five key points in the final minutes to stave off a New Orleans comeback.

The block was the highlight, but there was a stretch in the 3rd quarter where Rudy looked like he was worth every penny, pick and player that he cost the Wolves. Stealing passes, blocks, rebounds, dunks and defense.
It was a cool block but the win was in hand at that point.
It was a victory that I didn't expect, especially with Ingram returning. It was nice to see the other team take stupid techs for once. (Don't worry, our wolves can't let a game go by without pissing off the refs. I think Anderson picked up a "T" last night. I still think we win the award for the most ref baiting team in the league.)
