Go Gophers!!

So if you get Dorsey then no Jarvis? (2015 class should be a pg, sg, pf and a sf) right?

Marcus; (tweets)
Four-star PG Kevin Dorsey (@kevvv____) could decide between Minnesota, Maryland & Nebraska as early as next week. Would be huge first get.

I'd be surprised if we didn't take both if they wanted to come here. I just don't see us turning away 4* guards who can handle the ball. Also, we have 4 PFs on the roster, so I don't see that as a huge need. We'll probably take a C, unless Gaston can play there.

I think they would take both Jarvis and Dorsey. Also if Illikainen doesn't commit to the Gophers I could see them not taking a PF in this class.

@RyanJamesMN: Ben Johnson was in Milwaukee watching Reed Nikko, Marshawn Wilson, and Christian Williams.

@RyanJamesMN: Richard Pitino has been in DC watching Ahmad Wagner, Chris Clarke, and Kevin Dorsey there

@RyanJamesMN: Dan McHale was in Indy (Ray Spalding, KJ Walton) now in Philly to see Dupree McBrayer, Jared Reuter,Nate Grimes,Danjel Purifoy,Nakye Sanders

I agree. If the Gophers miss on Alex, I could see them taking all guards/wings this class. Ed Morrow is really the only other PF/C recruit we've heard much about at this point, and I think he's likely going to Nebraska. There's been a little Trevor Manuel talk, but I don't believe he has an offer yet. Ahmad Wagner and Nate Grimes are listed as SF's but could potentially slide over as they are both 6'7". I think we have a better than 50% chance on landing Alex though, so hopefully he'll fill that "big" target.

The Gophers would take both Jarvis and Dorsey, but I don't think Jarvis would come here if Dorsey commits to us first. Jarvis has been quoted as saying early playing time matters to him. With that being said, I would gladly take Dorsey even it means missing on Jarvis. We can't afford to be picky at this point.

I was thinking he would be a low 3 star/high 2 star and play for a mid major Florida team like FIU, FAU, FGCU etc. but he actually has offers from K-State and Tennessee.

The higher offers really surprised me. I think he will definitely be a project for which ever team he signs to.

Well we sent the big dog to go put the last ditch pitch on Dorsey, cross my fingers for a story/tweet saying Pitino got in his head and he takes longer than this week to decide. If he decides this week he didn't like what Pitino was selling, if he takes longer than this week I've got reason to "HOPE"

POLLYANNA!

Yeah. However, it looks like Johnson is our guy. Let's hope we can land him.

Dorsey might need a friendly reminder that he will likely be playing behind a (top 35 overall) 2014 PG that Maryland signed, Melo Trimball. We have an ideal situation for a 2015 PG, assuming Mason plays both positions.

Is Trimball a PG or a SG? Seems like a combo guard.

Bo Ryan!!!!!!

I wouldn't put much stock in the Crystal Ball for Dorsey. That is an extremely unreliable tool. It plays out like "follow the leader" instead of each individual working sources to find out where a kid is going. Obviously with Maryland being so close to home, they are serious competitors for Dorsey and should be the favorite.

I do wonder though if the Gophers fail to land Dorsey or Jarvis, if the attention of the staff will quickly shift to finding a JUCO PG for next season. Even in the event they get a commitment from Jarvis, I am not sure they (or I) would feel comfortable handing over the starting PG job to him on day one. Obviously a lot of different factors play in to things (such as what Mason/McNeil look like as lead guards if given that opportunity this year), but I think the ideal situation is Dorsey and Jarvis with plan B being talented JUCO and Jarvis and plan C being talented JUCO and full court press for top 2016 point guards.

Bryan Kriss from Hardwood Elite just changed Jarvis's 247 CB prediction to Madison today.
