I don't think his polls are meant to be scientific, but the way some react to them you'd think he was the Pollster at Quinnipiac University.

Go Gophers!!
As much as I wish this wasn't true it kinda is. I went to the Michigan St game this year and their gameday experience is absolutely CRAZY! Tailgates for what seemed like miles and the student section line was over half mile long. Granted their campus is more well suited for tailgating, but the atmosphere had a similar buzz to when the Gophs played Penn St in 2019 and Ohio St in 2021. Wisconsin I will say is HEAVILY overrated. Boring gameday atmosphere (even a big rivalary game was boring) and in-stadium was also lackluster.

Agreed on MSU, the campus was rocking this season for the Gopher game. It was a very fun environment.

Should be renamed "One Thing I can Think Of For Every School". Do like Wisconsin - "Overrated Student Section". Also Wake Forest - "No Issue With Wake".

How much of this is due to our location?
I generally think location is about 50% of the reason the scene isn't raucous.

Yeah, the location is not ideal for a crazy pregame scene, esepcially for tailgating. Location does not excuse the students though. For the most games there are only about 50 students at the gate when gates open.

I'll bet that fan positivity faded quickly after our game.
I can't say for certain, but I kinda doubt it. My best friend is from East Lansing and goes to MSU and he said that the atmosphere for the Gopher game is typical for them.

This is true. I had season tickets for years as an out-of-state alum and appreciated easy-peasy flights to MSP, hop on the light rail and go right to the stadium. Or maybe stay the weekend at one of the plentiful and fairly affordable hotels near campus and downtown, in walking distance to the stadium and nightlife.

MSP is a dream for traveling fans. I tried to plan a trip to Happy Valley last fall and it was going to be a long, arduous, and expensive journey of planes, trains, and automobiles.
