All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

That's a ton of money for him. He played well last year but he's not top tier.
Darnold's new deal makes him the 18th highest paid starting QB in the NFL. Seems about right to me and is a fair contract for both of the parties involved IMO.

CHI and NE are just crushing it so far. The Bears added three (3) starters to both their OL and DL including the best OC in the league (Dalmen) and DT Grady Jarrett.

We've signed a backup CB.

It's under $37M per season. That's not "Top Tier" by today's NFL standards. Pretty much in line with what Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield are getting.

It's the going rate for non-rookie QBs outside the Top 10.

Meh... We're not even 6 hours into it. It's an endurance race, not a sprint. I would venture to guess that most of the first day signings are almost always overpays.

I'll withhold my opinion until the next week or two (or at the very least a few days from now).

There's a limited commodity of available talent but I get what you're saying. Getting Ryan Kelly was a really good move.

It sounds like we're negotiating with these guys:

DT Jonathan Allen
OG Will Fries
QB Daniel Jones
S Javon Holland

No rumblings about Byron Murphy Jr with any team which is odd.

It's a lot of money, but this is why KAM and the Front Office cleared all that cap space the last two years. I don't know if they're done yet at CB; not sure if they would roll forward with Blackmon, Murphy, Rodgers and McGlothern, although I like the potential of both Blackmon and McGlothern.

Overall, not a bad first day

Fartsauce is breaking down the free agent movements in the NFL. Is he acting like he doesn’t know the players last names?

^^^^^ They must be real confident in McCarthy's health.
JJM was recently cleared for the Vikings Spring practices so that's a good sign. He'll certainly have a better OL to work with than Darnold.

LT Christian Darrisaw
LG Will Fries
C Ryan Kelly
RG
RT Brian O'Neill
