Will Mike McDaniel get fired by the Dolphins?

The Minnesota Vikings won’t admit it, but it looks like a full-scale rebuild could be ahead.
That would mean not re-signing free agents Kirk Cousins and Danielle Hunter, and possibly even trading Justin Jefferson.

>> There could be a better chance of Jefferson, 24, getting traded than anybody’s saying. That’s because it doesn’t make sense to pay the NFL’s best receiver the money he wants (expected to be at least $150 million over five years) on a team that’s not expected to be seriously competitive for several more years.

>> The market for Jefferson would depend on where a team trading for him is picking in April’s draft. But it would be more than two first-round picks. Trading Jefferson for high draft picks would allow the Vikings to rebuild the way the Lions and Bears have done the last two years, from the ground up. Don’t think Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf, who have made the playoffs just seven times in 17 seasons, haven’t watched those rebuilds.

I"m guessing you're being a little sarcastic, but McDaniel is working with a very limited QB in Tua. My guess is he's doing the best he can in Miami right now.

I know the "worldwide leader" and other outlets were pumping Tua for league MVP earlier in the season but he's an extremely limited player that would struggle immensely without someone who REALLY should have gotten some MVP attention, Tyreek Hill.

I had way more than I should have on the Chiefs and the Under yesterday so it was a happy day when the dust settled!! Woo Hoo!!

I remain highly skeptical that the Wilfs would sign off on a full-scale rebuild. unless all of the "insiders" are wrong, the Wilfs are the ones pushing for the team to remain 'relevant,' which they seem to define as trying to win enough games to make the playoffs.

my stance remains the same. If you're not seriously contending for a championship, I think a pro sports team is better off bottoming out and doing a major revamp - as opposed to getting stuck in the middle. in the middle, you're not contending for a championship, and you're not getting the best draft picks. as my junior high band director used to say, you're not going anywhere - you're just treading water. and that's what the Vikes have been doing - treading water.
 

I was excited to finally see the Packers have to struggle at QB. Love is playing really well and they have a very young team. Their fans are so spoiled.

8 weeks ago, I was cheering for the pack to win so they couldn't get a top qb. :banghead:

This guy is so calm, so under control, and is only going to get better. His accuracy was going to be off. He can't miss on a throw. It's just surreal. Young o-line, very young receivers, and now they can draft defense forever.

It's another reason to strip the Vikings down and try to rebuild.

You just can't make it up with the packers.
 






Who's the last good QB the Vikes have drafted? I'm probably forgetting someone, but the only 2 I remember are Fran and Tommy K. If that's accurate. That's pretty piss poor for 60 years.

I think Culpepper should count as good. He had a near MVP type season and was on the verge of being a top 5 QB before he got hurt.
 

Will the Cowboys move on from Dak?

I’ve never seen a team that can be so good or bad as Dallas. Really crazy.
 


Over the last 3 games the pack has played......I don't think I've seen receivers running so open. Is it scheme or what.

Every time love is pressured, he throws off his back foot downfield, and there isn't a guy within the same zip code

I’m harassing my longest tenure NYC friend from Dallas, he’s a good dude, but git him talking about Tejas and he becomes insufferable. He turned it off after the last Pack TD.

For the sake of argument, now that there is some evidence - IF Love turns out to be good and plays for 10+ years, the Packers could have an unbroken string of 40 years of good/great/elite QB play, as Favre's good play started in '94. Is there another organization that has even strung two back-to-back great QB's together?

Jerry is 81, so he might be ready to bite the bullet and let another Alpha in the house, like Jimmy, to secure another SB, while he can still enjoy it.

I don’t think it’s his smarts that are the problem, he’s a billionaire, who was smart enough to buy them & build Jerry’s World; it’s his ego that’s his enemy.

I really wanted the Vikings to draft Love that year. I have no clue if they were GOING to draft him (we probably never will know), but as I recall the Packers traded up to one spot ahead of the Vikings to take Love. Cool

49ers - Montana >>> Steve Young was nearly 2 decades.

Culpepper definitely had some success with the Vikings but holy shit did he benefit from a couple of guys that caught everything within 15 feet of them in Carter and Moss. Those two made Culpepper a rich man, he should thank them every year
