Def agree. The 23, 24 & 25 classes also make the reasoning behind Ben’s hiring kinda pointless bc it’s not like there will be a large number of MN kids who we should be offering. We missed on a golden era of MN recruits n we overreacted
Probably. The key is - Ben needs to start a winning trend SOON in order to get the next wave of really good Minnesota players. It's not just relationship and personality. If they are really good, they want to win. Pitino could have showed all the love in the world to Suggs and Holmgren and they still would have went to Gonzaga- because we weren't showing that we were going to win.

Wayzata's Jackson McAndrew has offers from St. Thomas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Creighton. Are we following this guy at all?

Is he a PG? We only have battle's scholarship opening up for 2024 as it currently stands. We need some kind of guard if Asuma doesn't work out.

With Evans out, TT likely out, Fox and Ihnen will be finally out of eligibility (barring further injury, pandemics, etc), what are our 2024 big man options (throwing out the unknowns of the portal)? Payne will need a back up to groom.

Go Cards and congrats 🍾🎉🎊 to Grayson.

Time to stiff another one that the Tom’s desperately want -first Asuma and now Grove.
@Wet_Blanket_Guy has definitely become Soggy. Who will now tell us how over valued he is, like he did with Asuma, As he realizes there is zero chance he picks Summit League over a B10 program🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’m sure the Big East also eagerly awaits their new doormat - Go Huskies !

Better to be a doormat in the big east than a doormat in the big ten.

Grove is a good player.

By that time, CBJ will be gone and hopefully happier times will be back at the barn.

Yep. He’s good. Glad he’s not a Badger.
Shouldn’t we all be chastising Wiscy for not getting him, after all he is an instate get correct, top 100 no less. How come he didn’t go to Wisconsin? (Paraphrasing others on here when we don’t get a hometown boy)

That would be a real solid start on 2024 with he and Asuma! Unlike the old days when people stayed on place 4 years- I really have very little idea how many more we can give.

I'm guessing that Garcia, Fox, Ihnen all move on after this year even though I don't know if there eligibility is out considering Covid. Hawkins and Mitchell can return. Wilson will be done. Looks like we still have a couple left if that list is true.

Per Sam:

Growing up in Minnesota, Grove has been watching the university's athletic teams a lot, and having a family full of Gopher fans was a big motivating factor for making a college commitment.

"I watched their basketball, football, and volleyball teams, and I come from a family of Gopher fans," Grove said in a phone interview with the Echo Press on Monday. "It means a lot to me to be able to play for a home-state school."

"I took my official visit this weekend, and coach Ben Johnson, coach Dave Thorson and the rest of the staff were with me all weekend, and I was able to build a really good relationship with all of them," Grove told Gopher Illustrated's Ryan James. "They showed me around the facilities, and they were just incredible. I like what Ben Johnson has set up for the program over the next few years. I think they are building up to be one of the better programs in the Big Ten. There is a lot of winning coming their way which is what I like. They are a staff that believes in me, they gave me an opportunity, and I think I really fit the way they play."

Go Gophers!!

Go Gophers!!
This just goes to show you what good parents, proper values, and support from extended family will do. Good Job Grove family!

Not only does he get to play for the Gophers his exposure will pay dividends in his post basketball professional career here in the Twin Cities (rather than needing to be a State Farm agent in some podunk town in southern Wisconsin or somewhere)

A good lesson for those basketball families here in the state with lesser values.
