the SDSU situation is getting.....interesting. apparently lots of rumors that the former coach is trying to take a lot of his former players with him to Washington State. several alumni of the program and previous coaches are speaking out, calling for the current players to be loyal to the program.

saw this on one website:

Though more than 30 players have committed to stay unconfirmed reports have upwards of 20 or more in the transfer portal, some of whom might be getting recruited by the previous staff to follow them to Washington State.

By NCAA rule players the transfer portal is open for 30 days to players following a coaching change at their school.
and former Jackrabbit and current Green Bay Packer Tucker Kraft weighed in on Twitter:

It was a privilege to play for SDSU. Ultimately, it prepared me for the NFL. When I had a chance to leave the program for $, it was the same coaches who are urging you to leave that urged me to stay. Not every path that presents itself is the one worth taking. Think critically.

Not rumors. 6 players committed already. 10 or 12 listed in the portal previously as no contact now listed as signed.

Standard procedure when a coach moves up a level. He’s going to bring a large number of his players with him.
 




Gronowski from South Dakota State commits to Iowa. he will be the clear favorite to be the Hawkeye's starting QB in 2025.

Lost his OC to NW. Lost his RB to Jets; TE to Chargers, O-linemen to Pittsburgh and Tampa and a WR to Texans and another who spent time in training camps. Those guys made him look awfully good. He's good but not great. Standup kid though.

He was going to transfer last season but decided to return to Brookings, turning down 7 figure NIL (SDSU somehow came up with about $100K). He stated that 24 would be his last year at SDSU no matter what with the goal being NFL but left the door open to a transfer. I'm sure he'd get into an NFL camp but doubt he'd be drafted. Iowa is reportedly giving him a 7 figure NIL deal. Doubtful he ever gets that out of the NFL. Smart choice. Seems to be only upside for him with this move.

Sounds like Miami and USC wanted him and the NFL would have been a quality option. He decided to stay close. To home at a P4 school.
