All Things 2024/25 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

They lost Tayven Jackson, so Mendoza probably walked into a starting gig plus some cash.
Georgia was after Mendoza pretty hard. Many Bulldog fans as of yesterday thought he was coming to Athens.

How many of these QB’s are back in the spring portal if they don’t earn the starting spot?

Yeah pretty huge get for Indiana, and they needed one. Wondering what it was they were able to offer him. Good break for the Gophers as we don’t face him at Cal now and Indiana is not on the schedule next year either.

A bunch of them for sure.
I think so too, but it may be too late for most spring QB transfers to find a team they can start on. Having missed winter workouts and spring training, they’ll have a tough time learning a new system and getting used to how the offense plays together.

Indiana seems to have a well funded NIL. They must have been able to meet or beat Georgia money and guarantee the starting job.

Sometimes you can’t upset the apple cart. Indiana is done. Georgia still playing. Timing can play into the equation. Hard to pull the rug out from under a QB that is still trying to win you a championship.

Good point!

I don’t know much about the UGA QB situation, but I’d imagine it’s more crowded than Indiana’s. I don’t find it that strange that he picked Indiana over UGA, but kind of strange he left a starting gig at Cal to go to Indiana, he played high school ball in Florida. Could be due to any number of unknown reasons, but if it’s a money issue I think it’s interesting if he wasn’t able to get substantial pay at Cal compared to what he’ll get at Indiana. I have heard rumors of Indiana having a strong NIL fund.

I think Beck has another year of eligibility if he wants it and after his injury, he'll probably return to Athens.

May have been mentioned already but I see Will Pauling (WR - Wisconsin) is in the portal. Good player.....would look great in Maroon and Gold if there is interest from both sides.
Pauling to ND

I don’t think the Georgia fans are pining for him to come back. It was kind of painful to watch him play this year and then the whole deal with the Lamborghini and all that move onto the next level let’s see if you got it.

True. I never thought he was that good to begin with, but he really did have a subpar year given the pre-season build-up. Both he and Ewers were in the first-round projections along with Ward and Sanders as the season began. I think what we've all learned (or known all along) is that pre-season draft previews really aren't worth much.

Could they be getting distracted by all that money even before they go pro? All that money when so young is going to kill some of these kids’ desire and focus. They are only human.
