All Things 2024/25 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

let's not forget that Beck is coming off the football version of Tommy John surgery.

coming back to college for another year buys him time to do a complete rehab without having to worry about going through the Combine. find another school and - presuming that Beck is healthy - he has a season to show the pros that he's OK.

And I think he's dating one of the original NIL Twins from the basketball team at Miami. I agree. Get healthy while making some NIL dollars and get back on the field.

I think Beck is mostly about Beck. Don’t see him as much of a team guy.
You are not wrong. My son goes to UGA and knows many in the program. Beck is not well liked. There has been a lot of tension with him behind the scenes (with coaches and other players) and insiders in the program are not sad to see him go. They certainly were not going to pay him to stay. Hearing Beck could end up at Miami where his girlfriend is on the basketball team.

Georgia, while they like Stockton and Puglisi, could be looking for a QB. They really wanted Mendoza from Cal but wanted to wait until the playoffs were over and he didn’t want to wait around.

Once next year is over his mid seven figure salary opportunities from football disappear. He has zero shot of being a second contract starting QB in the NFL.
After taxes, agent fees, etc, that's an extra $5,000 in NET monthly income added to whatever you earn working for the next 40 years.

You take that money if you're Beck and apologize to nobody for doing so IMO.

So Gronowski and Beck are both using NIL and current landscape of college football as insurance while recovering from injury. Gronowski isn’t available until June. Not sure on Beck.

Notice: The Orgi is moving to Vegas…update your calendars.

I was reading an article about Beck in The Athletic. (may be the same one you're referring to)

BTW, that article in The Athletic said there are reports that Beck is getting $3-million - not $4-million. still a lot. as far as Beck's timeline, the article said he won't be throwing "for a few months." it noted that Brock Purdy had the same procedure and he was throwing about 10 weeks after surgery.
that would put Beck in late March to early April.

on Gronowski - Ferentz is calling it "a common issue." but if he won't be able to practice until June, it has to be something fairly serious.

Based on his recent purchase of a Lamborghini and choice in girlfriends, I don't think he'll be "investing" the money in the way you suggest...

What's wrong with his girlfriend? She seems like a young lady who prioritizes making her own money.
Rumors were most of the other players at Georgia didn't like her because she was a big distraction for him. Rumors of course so take it with a grain of salt.
