All Things 2024/25 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

I’m sure these players heard of the NFL and open air stadiums in the north where it gets….cold! Weather should never be a factor
One big difference for college and pro players is that you have more say in where you play in college. Outside of free agency in the NFL you are kind of stuck with whatever team holds your rights and where that team is located.

So for a college player weather could absolutely be a factor which probably explains why you don't see a lot of really successful college football teams in cold weather areas.

Yeah, unfortunately transfer portal recruiting moves so fast that you have to get guys on campus as quickly as possible.

I don't mind it though. If a kid is going to come here he has to be ready to handle the weather, if he can't then it would have been a bad fit anyway.
It's 75 degrees at Manny's and even hotter at the Vu.

Gophers offered Brown out of HS. Was arguably his second best offer besides Auburn. Not highly recruited.

Saw a report claiming that Marshall U. Is pulling out of the Independence Bowl (vs Army) because Marshall has so many players in the portal that they can't field a competitive team.

Not sure if there is another bowl-eligible team, or if some 5-7 team wants to take the game on short notice. The Bowl is supposed to take place on Dec. 28.

Might as well just have Marshall play in Southern Miss jerseys and call it a day

The badgers can keep their streak going!

Wisconsin having their consecutive bowl streak end is delicious. Thank god they didn't get in on this fiasco.

Miller Moss transferred to Louisville

Guys that contribute to playoff teams feel the need to put their name in the portal now for their own best interest. They shouldn’t have to make the decision now.

Hoping we add an o-lineman or two still.

A chance to win a Natty and you portal out and playoff time. Crazy times
I knew a playoff wouldn’t keep players from opting transferring/opting out. Pretty big gamble to play multiple playoff games instead of just one bowl game if you’re a potential top pick.

If you’re a top pick you should be getting pretty good NIL and can afford to buy a pretty good insurance policy against injury, right? You could also improve your draft stock as long as you do have that insurance policy in place, right? To your point, that insurance policy premium probably increases quite a bit with the extra games! I’m just guessing on all this. Anyone have any insight?

Seems like a good fit.
